John Reed (1887) – Revolutionary journalist, author of immortal account of the Bolshevik 1917 revolution, Ten Days That Shook the World. In 1919, Reed helped launch the Communist Labor Party (a forerunners of the Communist Party), as it split from the opportunist Socialist Party.
