Very few Welsh rivers have escaped human modification of some sort - weirs, channel straightening, bank reinforcement, culverts etc.

Credit where credit is due….
@NatResWales has successfully pushed through changes to abstraction licences for the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal that will help the river Usk's salmon and overall ecology.
This was despite an appeal by @CanalRiverTrust against the decision.

A “wide ranging” review of the water industry in Wales and England has been announced by @WelshGovernment and @DefraGovUK, welcome news to anyone with an interest in rivers.
Of particular interest is that all water regulators will be part of the review.
