The water has FINALLY dropped enough to access our best redshank site, with the redshank champion himself @RupertBrewer2! The nests have a 2 inch layer of dry grass in them to keep the eggs nice and dry, what a fantastic species! #conservation
We have a exciting new job opportunity to join our wetlands research team! #conservation #ornithology

Our Avon Valley redshank have almost all finished breeding and are heading off to their coastal summer grounds. Please keep a look out for colour ringed birds especially around the Hampshire coast, every sighting is hugely valuable to the project! #ornithology
It was a bit of a soggy start but it was a great day at open farm Sunday yesterday, we spoke to so many people about wader #conservation, predator management and #farming. The kids loved having a go at looking for lapwing in the hide! #LOFS23
First confirmed successful breeding of a Avon Valley redshank chick from 2021, now with big chicks of her own only a few fields across from where she hatched! #conservation #ornithology @GWCTScience
Look at all those wader footprints! At least 2 pairs of lapwing and 2 pairs of redshank with chicks using this scrape, protected by an electric fence and with the removal of crows they have a pretty good chance at success! #conservation
And she’s back again for the 7th year running! Site faithful since fledging back in 2016.

It’s always a special day when we find the first #redshank nest. These birds are incredibly good at hiding their nests! Nest are found for research that feeds directly into their #conservation
And the #lapwing are off! Great to get this pic in this morning from @RupertBrewer2 and inside a temporary electric fence too! Can’t wait to get out there myself! #conservation
