Adams Morgan is named after two elementary schools that sat a block apart in 1955. One was white, one was Black, and their principals decided it was time their neighborhoods met. ghostsofdc.org/2022/03/16/na…

Another sad victim of our camera ticket system this morning on Georgia Ave @CMWendellFelder @CMRobertWhiteDC The takeaway from this is that we should get rid of the cameras. Definitely not that we should be impounding these cars earlier.

I would sincerely love our Council to take a minute to imagine a person who lives in DC, has a job, is a net fiscal contributor, and doesn't commit crimes. What have you done over the past year to improve the life of someone like that? What will you do next year?

As an NCSU alum, I welcomed the inglorious ending of several NFL games this weekend

The weird bulges under Trump's clothes, the odd stances, the unnatural walk we see... It's clear he's at times wearing some sort of exoskeleton mobility aid.

To anyone who wants more, linking the full filing here. Even if you skip the legal parts, it's a genuinely great read on the history and uniqueness of this place, the 1919 opening, the 1941 desegregation fight, the Walter Travis design, etc. Worth your time. democracydefendersfund.org/w…

I’ve written a lot of things over 20 years for a lot of fancy places, won a lot of fancy writing awards. This is the most important thing I’ve ever written & it got no traction because of where we published. I would sincerely appreciate if you fixed that courtwatch.news/p/the-church…

C'mon guys. @dcdmv has removed the ACH/e-check payment option. So if you want to avoid the otherwise mandatory credit card surcharge you have to go to the DMV in person. Such nonsense. Oh, and the Georgetown branch is still closed from a water main break in February.

I just want a city government that works. God knows we pay enough for it. I believe @RiniSampath would have focused on that. I hope @janeese4DC will.

When you handwrite a 0 or O, do you do it counterclockwise or clockwise? I'm CCW. Just saw a video of someone writing their 0s CW and it looks so wrong

Hey DC friends, I highly recommend subscribing to "Alisa's Daily Dose," a morning email from former Post writer Alisa Tang. Each day has a delightful short blurb about something of local interest, as well as links to DC-related news stories and a pic. alisadailydose.com/subscribe

Deeply reported and deeply felt pieces like this are why I support Seamus and subscribe to Courtwatch. It's worth your time to read it.

When I was in high school, I ended up on a flight with Dolly Parton. I nervously walked up to the front of the plane and asked for her autograph. I didn't have any paper with me, so I had borrowed a pen and scrounged in the seatback pocket for the only paper I could find...

The barf bag. She laughed and signed, "I hope this bag isn't a reflection on either of us, Love Dolly." Rest in peace, Ms. Parton.

Gotta say this Reacher is better (so far) than the last one. Less cringe, more true to the character (Don't get me wrong, still a beach read of a television series, but entertaining at least)
