Transparently, I need to sell 15 issues of Alt Milk between now and April to avoid paying contributors out of my own pocket. What is a business model? Money isn’t real. I’m flying by the seat of my pants here.

Creative writing will not bring you money, fame, happiness, or validation. Generally it brings you nothing! Be prepared to bring everything of yourself and receive absolutely nothing! Become a writer!

Today, someone at zine fest asked me how many total fests I've tabled and I added up just over 30! In the past 9 years, I've tabled over 30 zine fests, hosted 7 PHX ZFs, and provided programs for many fests. That's a lotta zine fest stuff! 😍🎉

I distributed 97 #zines today at the @abqzinefest and hosted a mini Bad Art Club! I met new friends and said hi to many other great folks. Huge thanks goes to the organizers and volunteers for putting on a great fest! 💜

Zines didn't get mentioned in this year's Best of Phoenix from the @phoenixnewtimes but we will always thank them for including us in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022! It's hard to be the best, when we are the only full zine store in PHX! The 2022 write up still stands!🎉

If everyone who said "I want to do what you do," instead said "how can I support what you're doing?" we would be in a different place. Please consider how you can support folks doing big & hard things! There's so many ways to help!

🔮Messy History, Broken Ornament: An Online Talk about Collaborative Graphic Design Sat 7th Oct | 2-3pm | Online Join Rietlanden Women’s Office for an online talk about collaborative graphic design practices + the ornamental as a form of work critique glasgowzinelibrary.com/event…
Selected pages from MsHeresies by Rietlanden Women’s Office

ALT Selected pages from MsHeresies by Rietlanden Women’s Office

Text: Emerging from the latest issue of our publishing project *MsHeresies*, this online talk will be about collaborative graphic design practices and the ornamental as a form of work critique. We are interested in the urgent aspects of ornamentation – the messy history of unauthored graphic design made collaboratively – evoking rage, curing maladies, expressing lust, or criticising those in power. We see the ornament as closely linked to graphic design’s role in the distribution of knowledge and as a point where aesthetics and politics intertwine. About this and more via link from our studio in Amsterdam where we will show images and printworks.
