Our rivers cannot take any more pollution from industrial chicken farming. Enough is enough. Waterways Protection stands firmly behind River Action’s petition to stop #BigChicken choking our rivers. Chicken manure should be used responsibly as fertiliser, not left to poison our waterways. The poultry giants must take responsibility for their waste, rather than leaving our rivers, wildlife and communities to pay the price. We need action now, not more industrial expansion and more pollution. Nearly 100,000 people have signed. Let's push this over the line. Sign the petition. Share it. Make your voice heard. you.38degrees.org.uk/petitio… #RiverAction #WaterwaysProtection #BigChicken

We talk about trees absorbing CO2. We don't talk enough about trees REFLECTING the sun. It's called the ALBEDO effect. Forests bounce solar energy back to space, stopping Earth from overheating. Cut a tree, and you darken the Earth. Literally.

Signed and shared. That manure should be used as free fertiliser for farmers further inland, not dumped in or around our rivers.

The RSPCA says it wants to end factory farming. So why are they certifying it? Sign the petition urging them to act against factory farming. petauk.org/4ll

Everything for sale. Australia investors buy 19UK ports, previously owned by investors from Canada, Singapore, Kuwait. City of London prefers speculation. Unlike many other countries, UK doesn't levy tax on dividends paid to foreign investors. archive.ph/oYm8k

A new tree takes 20-50 years to become a real carbon sink. An old tree is doing the work RIGHT NOW. The cheapest carbon capture device is not in a lab. It's in the forest.

Exactly. The term "climate change" is too often used to obscure the underlying causes: industrial pollution, fossil fuel emissions, deforestation and environmental destruction by humans and corporate entities. These activities drive climate change and cause wider ecological damage. We should be confronting the causes, not merely discussing the consequences.

Earth has about 3 trillion trees, down from about 6 trillion before the rise of human civilisation. Humans cut down ~15 billion every year. That's roughly 28,000 trees a minute. That is why it's vital we plant them and do all that we can to prevent deforestation. 🌱
