Good humans,
I wrote a book. Took me 10 yrs.
Share it with anyone who wants to understand the minds they're designing for and the mind they're designing with.

So cool to now see Claude reading my comments in Tonen and starts fixing things while I leave feedback throughout the project.
And not unimportant; the builders of the project now wear hard hats!
The name of this app is Tonen (Dutch for βto showβ), after connecting to its mcp you can just ask Claude to add the Tonen comment layer and get a share link. People can comment on your running build like they would on a design file. Comments are pinned to html elements.
As design moves from static files straight into code, I miss one thing: comments/feedback right on the designs.
I thought Iβd build this tool for myself to allow co-workers and clients to comment directly on a running prototype, just like in a design file.
Yesssss! After 9 months we finally picked up Bennie, our restored 1970 VW T2a. Just in time for our road trip to Norway.
Bennie Bus is almost here. The photo on the right was 9 months ago. The one on the left is today. Turns out restoring a VW bus takes about as long as having a baby.
Not sure if I can blame AI, but somehow every landing page feels boringly the same nowadays. Not bad, just the same.
Building the website for my book and creating the illustrations has probably been the most enjoyable part of the project.
The site is built with the Hugo static site generator, partly hand-coded and partly with Codex. The illustrations were drawn in Procreate on my iPad.
They made some good progress on our bus. Our daughters named him Bennie. Hopefully heβll be ready in time for summer vacation. π€
π£οΈGood design dies in meetings.
Conformity and group polarization mean meetings do not just reveal what a team thinks. They change it. Doubts get filtered out, early opinions get amplified, and the group becomes more certain without getting more right.

Received some solid feedback on the previous version. Tried to address it in this revised version.
β’ Tighten the kerning
β’ T reads as an F/G and is unbalanced
β’ Make slant/stress angles more consistent
β’ Smooth out wobbly curves
β’ Make stroke weight more consistent
Good humans!
I could use some lettering and kerning help.
Whatβs the one thing youβd change to improve this hand-lettered logo?
Any advice is welcome. β€οΈ
Today I helped my 9yr old daughters build their first app: Dino Radar.
Every time they hear thunder, they think itβs a T-Rex walking nearby.
So they came up with a simple idea: a rain radar, but for dinosaurs. A map showing where theyβre roaming.
