🚨 Meet. Users. Where. They. Are. 🚨
We continue to hear the topic of “onboarding”
Onboarding who?
Who are your customers?
Don’t expect people coming to Web3 for the ethos
Most don’t care or understand - hard truth there
We “onboard” users by building products that improve their experience

Something I loved about ETH:
Exposure to new ecosystems
Ironically, people are complaining about this same topic
IMO: It’s not winner take all!
So much more bullish on Web3 knowing SO many are doing BIG things
>> Making great apps possible <<
GREAT people and apps comin across the board
Who should I be following?
Looking for new apps, new signal, not hype

i've never been so disappointed and disgusted in the space and some of the people who are leaders in it
this place is unrecognizable to me
in a way, i feel like i've been boiled alive until i have no sensibilities left. only numbness
it sucks, it really does

The TL loves to hate on Polygon
And yet they are #1 in Stablecoin activity by market share
Stablecoin usage is emblematic of real world usage - no fluff
The contrast between data and CT noise is stark
It shows that the TL is a microcosm of Web3
It’s primarily an immature echo chamber skewed towards get rich quick and drama

Let’s make a differentiation: Solana the chain vs Solana the culture.
Solana the technology does its job, and isn’t responsible for scams and grifts.
Solana the culture, there’s a lot to dislike there.
BECAUSE leadership (thought and otherwise), supporting VCs, large infra founders, sponsored and unsponsored creators, and narratives have leveraged scamming behavior to say “our chain is better”, to talk PMF, to show adoption metrics, and primarily - to make money.
All in terrible faith.
Then, few have shown a shred of accountability in the wake of the mania.
Many gaslight people. Many pretend they’ve hated this behavior from the get go. Many told us we were just less intelligent, with less vision, less understanding, when we called our toxic, immoral, and illegal behavior.
They pissed on us and called it rain. Now they’re trying to reframe the conversation in the aftermath of their value extraction.
People are right to hate that shit, are you kidding me?
Solana has promise. I love many teams building there. It’s responsible for so many constructive infrastructure and UX conversations.
It has moved the space forward, and likely/hopefully will continue to do so.
But the culture has to change. That doesn’t require censorship. We all get the good and bad of permissionlessness.
But throwing your hands up and using it as a scapegoat when teams pushed by major players are facilitating crime at massive scales, is plainly ridiculous.
What’s the craziest part of this story? A little accountability would have meant a totally different conversation.
It’s so fucking simple.
So again, the culture needs to change.
That change has to start from the top.
People say “believe in something”.
The way forward is to believe in accountability.
If you fuck up, BE A GROWNUP AND OWN IT.

The irony of so many KOLs and VCs coming out to attack scams and insider trading
Is that most of those same KOLs & VCs have participated in, amplified, or directly benefited from this behavior
Guess what: New morals, pointing fingers, and cleaning your TL isn’t gonna save you

Crypto increases the velocity of capital.
The sad reality is nation states have been rugging their citizens for years - just at a significantly slower rate 🙃

Memes, Fast Chains, and Interoperability - What Stands the Test of Time? 🧵
Crazy to me how many truly intelligent people have been roped into the meme agenda - not just meme coins, but their durability.
Does it onboard? Yes, in the current nascent & economic environment.
Does it go brrr? For the few.
Will it last? As much as any casino does. Present, not prominent.
Why gamble when you can make informed bets (investments)?
What few seem to realize is that building a “fast(er) chain” is no longer an edge.
EVERYONE is trying to build and scale it.
BUT - can you capture mindshare, make your community sticky, and make your developer base sticky?
That is what gives you an edge for the foreseeable future.
But then along comes smooth, scalable interoperability - and this all matters a lot less.
Differentiated block-space is the future, when every chain is fast.
But even that is not enough. Not when your differentiated block-space doesn’t suit all participants’ needs.
Few general blockchain ecosystems will survive long term. Purpose made chains will excel. Why?
A general chain is a Swiss Army knife cutting a steak - it can do it all, but not easily. A purpose built chain is chef’s knife.
But everyone will want to have the “chef’s knife” tool; however, not everyone wants to cut steak.
That’s why interoperability is the most crucial piece of the pie.
The mainstays will be those that enable and align with the multi-chain future - that connect all the applications with tailored tools 🧠
Thanks for coming to my TED talk 😶🌫️

My favorite part of these takes is that it implies humans will just all agree on something.
"Ope, pack it up boys the binary thing happened"
It's multifaceted and one chain "winning" (whatever that means) doesn't preclude others being immensely valuable

If it’s not clear that the DePIN space is still in its infancy -
The DePIN TOTAL MCap
Accounts for ~0.5% of the Total Crypto MCap
For comparison, memes account for ~1.8% of the Total Crypto MCap
>3 times as much value is in memes
So much growth is ahead

Markets have been bleeding
Sentiment is weak
But you, you know this is temporary
But where do you focus?
📍DePINs
📍RWAs
Why?
➡️ Real products
➡️ Solving real problems
➡️ Real revenues and business models
➡️ Real Adoption ⬅️
These sectors bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3
This is why institutions and founders are flocking to these sectors
🚨It’s not about web2 vs web3 🚨
It’s about what works for builders, consumers, and use cases
RWAs and DePINs are opening doors to novel applications and technologies
So take advantage of these “down” turns -
Invest in learning, invest in building, invest in builders
And be a part of the future - not a witness
See you out there my friends 🤝

Peaq is the *only* project discussing on-chain machines
Above the many other hollow web3 metrics
This should tell you all you need to know about their vision
The machine economy is coming, Peaq is betting on it heavily,
And they are making that bet pay off
Slowly, then all at once
Time to take a @peaq
1,000,000 onchain machines ✅
Sounds big ... until you remember there are ~50 billion machines in the world today
And ~150 billion by 2030
It's day 1.
