Obsidian Mobile changes everything.
It allows you to change your phone from a distraction machine into a learning machine!
But ONLY if you use it correctly. And chances are: you aren't.
Here's everything you're missing in Obsidian Mobile 馃憞
I don't know who needs to hear this, but:
Creating good quality software is still hard.
Yes LLMs can help.
But it's still hard.

@obsdmd definitely is the one app I couldn't live without. I use it to think, plan, explore and learn.
Right now I am experimenting with "Obsidian Depot", a small plugin (inspired by Obsidian S3 Uploader) that aims to allow uploading+reading from private S3 compatible buckets.
Hey @kepano! I'm building a plugin that stores private attachments in S3 and references them in notes as myprofile://path/photo.jpg. Reading View and Live Preview work, but Bases/Canvas card covers stay empty, so I'm patching them through the DOM for now. Is there a better way to do this, or is it something you'd consider supporting?

Obsidian 1.15.0 (early access) is now available to Catalyst members!
- Mermaid diagrams use our new rendering engine, Pele, which renders up to 500 times faster and uses your theme's colors and fonts.
- Voice capture on iOS: Quick Capture can record and transcribe voice notes as you speak, even from the Lock Screen.
- PDF export on mobile.
- Smarter list editing: indenting or moving a list item now moves nested items too.
- Accent-insensitive search: cafe matches caf茅 in suggestions.
- New URI and CLI commands to append or prepend content under a heading.
- Filters in Bases can now be reordered.
- Community plugins load faster when Obsidian starts.

Before you clip anything with the Obsidian Web Clipper, ask yourself a simple question:
What's the big idea I want to keep?
If you have an answer to that question, go ahead and clip it, but write the big idea in your own words.
If you can't do that, though, don't clip it!
This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax.
- 100-500脳 faster than mermaid.js
- 6脳 smaller bundle
- No dependencies
- Easy to theme
- Responsive to device width
In pursuit of making Obsidian insanely fast and cohesively designed, I always found the Mermaid library to be too big, too slow, and too hard to theme. Pele will be the new renderer in the next version of Obsidian, but you can start using it now.
Pele [藞p蓻l蓻] is named after the goddess of volcanoes and fire. It's open source under the MIT license. Try the playground!
It is crazy how fast Obsidian has become on mobile
We're going to eventually forget "slow on mobile" was ever a thing
The time has come to call for an absolute moratorium on new oauth providers until we figure out what the heck is going on
Obsidian 1.14 is now available with five major improvements:
1. Edit Markdown files outside your vault
2. Preview files using macOS Quick Look when the app is closed
3. Instantly add notes with Quick Capture on iOS
4. Kanban and new grouping options in Bases
5. Highlight colors
You know, the boomers might have been onto something when they used to sign their names online. Not something an AI would do, right?

Just ordered at a restaurant where the tip amounts were reversed:
25% ... 20% .... 15%
I wonder how many people now instinctively tap the left option?
