I’m dismayed that @bbccomedy dismissed my complaint about the language used on @HIGNFY_official last weekend. My argument is that the media can shake its head at violence and enmity towards politicians but is itself deliberately provocative. It’s engendering counter-culture.
Philosophically I have been against #windfalltaxes. But if the UK Government did impose such a tax, I think it should be ring-fenced for a huge social housing construction project to help the millions who cannot get on the ladder. VAT reduction to 10% could also help.
@MarkJLittlewood interesting article today in The Times. I think cash for honours should change to tax for honours. Knighthoods would be given to those who hit a certain threshold in tax payments. It would surely reduce evasion?
