Oh no wage theft prevented! Instead of stealing other people's wages she may have to work herself. Devastating. 🤣

🇬🇧 Kemi Badenoch says we shouldn't talk about slavery because "it's in the past." So I guess that means no October 7th. No Holocaust. No Remembrance Day. No 9/11. "It's in the past" right????

If those billionaire-owned media outlets can convince you to hate doctors, they can convince you to hate anyone.

Starting to think telling employees "we don't have budget for raises" while posting record breaking quarterly profits isn't a great retention strategy

Capitalism has ruined people’s worldview, making extreme selfishness and greed seem normal. It’s not humane, or normal, to believe that human beings should be denied shelter, food, and healthcare simply bc they have no money. This is dystopian.

It feels like at least half of our societal problems lead back to housing policy and the greed of landlords.

Society does not need landlords in order to function. People should either be able to own a home of their own or rent extremely cheaply from the state, local authorities or housing coops. Tenant’s money should go into housing rather than landlord’s pockets. Abolish landlordism.
Replying to @GeorgeAylett
Why don’t you want a functioning private rental sector? Not everyone wants to buy.

Viewers waiting for the day @BBCNewsnight invite a minimum wage worker on instead of a buy to let landlord with 6 rentals, who inherited Daddys thriving pie shop, whinging his staff got a 49p PH pay rise.

Want to cut the welfare bill? Pay wages people can actually live on so working people don’t need benefits to survive. End the great rent rip-off. Build council homes instead of pouring taxpayers’ money into private landlords’ pockets. Tackle poverty, not the poor.

2026: We hate people on benefits. So the people on benefits get a minimum wage job, But we still hate them because the minimum wage destroys businesses when it goes up. So those minimum wage workers work really hard and become teachers, nurses or police officers And we still hate them because those jobs are paid for by our taxes and sometimes they have the cheek to ask for more, of OUR money!!!!! But they keep working that job anyway, until the day they retire and then we hate them because they get a pension and pensions increase at a higher rate than our wages. Oh and if you have the absolute nerve to be chronically ill or disabled We hate you too!!!

When @Conservatives and @KemiBadenoch talk about cutting welfare. What they mean is divert funds from the less well off to the wealthiest.👇

Imagine worshipping an economic system where corporations and billionaires use, exploit, and then discard workers to rake in billions of dollars for themselves. This is capitalism and it is the biggest scam on planet earth bar none!
Microsoft just made $133.7 BILLION in net income last year. Today they announced they are getting rid of 60,000 workers. Fuck these companies man.

Great tips from Brazil on how they turned things around for Lula online and offline: 1. Don’t ever engage, block far-right accounts immediately. 2. Don't debunk, focus on making new content on your platform. 3. Use all the tools at your disposal. 4. Be equally online and offline.

Madeley: "Do you think welfare spendings out of control?" Maguire: "I don't think its out of control if you look at the total figure.. its only 10.6% of the economy, which is low by European standards" Singh: "And over half of the welfare budget is pensions, the state pension"

There's always another option, which is bosses accepting less profits. Reason why capitalism is a stupid system
Minimum wage going up to £13.20 sounds great until you realise businesses only have 3 options: Raise prices. Employ fewer people. Cut costs elsewhere. Workers need better pay. But if everything else gets more expensive, how much better off are we really?

The fact that financial markets are reacting poorly to Lula’s victory is a sure sign that markets are not some amorphous intelligence but simply a bunch of right wing traders who follow the herd. We forget that at our peril.
