the world can be an absolute fucking mess, but at least these two iconic, fierce men were made for each other.
the larrie brainrot is so real because instead of focusing on the actual music video, i'm over here imagining louis and harry going over the choreography together a million times, probably in their kitchen 😭 i'm sorry but HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO THINK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE
i keep thinking about harry and louis sharing a stage, their relationship concealed from everyone watching, with the darkness being the only place they could openly show each other affection.
and then there's harry dancing with that second man in the music video. they're literally ON STAGE, but the spotlight never finds them. even in a space meant for being seen, they're left moving together in the shadows. god, that parallel hurts.
i can't help but think about how difficult fame must be for harry when i watch that final scene with the dance instructor. she's completely exposed beneath this bright spotlight, performing an interpretative dance that some people might find strange, while every single person in the room just stands there watching her. there's something about being so visible, especially when you're expressing yourself in ways others might not understand, that really makes me think about what he goes through.
there’s something i absolutely adore about the way harry’s music videos constantly make you question what you’re actually seeing. appearances are never quite the whole story.
there’s something about the way louis and harry so often end their music videos completely alone that absolutely destroys me. especially when i imagine those final scenes layered over one another, like they’re two halves of the same picture. because in my head, neither of them is truly alone. the person who belongs beside them just happens to exist in the other music video. somewhere else, still holding on. ❤️
and god, maybe that’s why this video makes me so emotional. it genuinely hurts to think about everything they go through just to express themselves. once again, there are all these parallels to an industry where the darkness becomes the only place you’re allowed to exist as your authentic self. where being seen in the light means risking having your own truth weaponised against you. where you’re surrounded by people who supposedly know you but actually have no idea who you are, and all you can do is keep smiling, playing along, pretending you belong in the picture.
there’s so much intention behind this entire music video, and i adore how carefully everything has been constructed. but the more i think about what it might represent, the more my heart breaks.
my brain is genuinely about to combust trying to process every single detail of this video. HOW do you even begin to unpack something this beautifully bizarre???? the unsettling atmosphere, the strangely bittersweet feeling of it all, the way pain becomes something physical through movement, the choreography, the bird-inspired interpretive dance, the ballerinas, the characters, the costumes, the lighting, the entire set... EVERY FUCKING THING feels so intentional and wonderfully weird. there's an overwhelming amount to dissect and i can't string together a single coherent thought about any of it.
it's harry standing there looking so devastated and guilty as that poor man lies hurt after being thrown aside that absolutely SHATTERS me. because the whole dance feels like it's spiralling towards disaster. it starts with the bride, the movements getting quicker and increasingly chaotic, and then suddenly she's replaced by a man, the lights go dim, and everything becomes even more unstable until they completely lose control. god. my heart genuinely cannot take this.
so the bride gets replaced by a man the moment they're hidden in the shadows, only for him to be discarded as soon as they step into a room where everyone can see them????? right. okay. perfectly normal.
the contrast is so glaring once you notice it: when his partner is the groom, everything happens in darkness. even when they’re moving across a stage, they aren’t illuminated, no one is paying attention to them, and the only thing visibly lit is the dance studio behind them.
but when it’s the bride, it’s the complete opposite. he can dance with her openly, fully visible, in every kind of space — the studio room, the hallways, the kitchen, the lobby — and they’re kept in the light the entire time.
that switch matters so much to me. with a bride, he gets to be seen anywhere. with a groom, he’s confined to the shadows, even when he’s technically standing on a stage in front of other people.
