Blue Reflection is such a special experience
The game itself is mid, but it's such a beautiful story with a beautiful atmosphere, vibe, art, music and tone
Empathy is such a beautiful theme for a magical girl work, and BR uses it perfectly
Bigger problem is the release schedule
I'm all for slower manga releases so the creators don't burn out, but waiting 3 months for 20 pages when the story is this slow is the problem
This card seems really strong for ward haven
If gbf gives 1-2 more ward cards with an uncap payoff, this deck might get really scary
We meed more magical girl/shojo orriented games like Blue Reflection preferably with more Mel Kishida art👀
The other big problem I have with Edgerunners 2 was an over reliance on anime tropes
Part of what made S1 feel special was that it was a pure cyberpunk story with an appropriate tone
S2 comes across more "anime" which is why so many people don't find it as interesting
The need to glaze Season 1 with all the David glazing they forced in, plus the need to call back to soul killer for, what ended up being just a side plot, also came across as extremely insecure, which I guess is fair when you have to live up to season 1
D's story works because we got to see it through beginning to end, and I think him and Capri going to be the only memorable thing about this season beyond the good character designs
Weak Talia and Roman just skipped their middle arc completely which is why they don't work
It's a cop out answer to say they needed more episodes but I think that's the core problem
4 main characters just didn't work for 10 episodes of run time, so only D got a proper story
Roman, Weak and Talia all just skipped the middle part of their story so they could finish
A bit harsh but I'm in a similar boat
It was still a good season of TV, but it's pretty inferior to S1
The characters aren't fleshed out enough for the emotional beats to hit how the writers want them to, so the final 3 episodes fall flat unless you've already bought into it
