If you don’t already know, @CircleOnBase ($circle) is one of the most impressive coins I’ve seen in a long time. Dev has introduced a novel limit-sequenced deflationary feature. Think Safemoon but without taxes. Incredibly based, read more here: compoundinterest.medium.com/…….

Time to start talking about @dizzyhavoc again. The dev has shipped a functional testnet bridge in 3 weeks, ETA for mainnet is w/c April 1. The next meta is likely to be utility projects on eth. DZHV seems incredible R/R right now. Dev is based!

Don’t see how $BVM doesn’t cook.
ai zk dao doing some product launch planning this weekend for @BVMnetwork. and i’m just super excited about what we’ll be shipping in the next few weeks. it’s a great time to be building on bitcoin!

Highly, highly promising.

I like Base a lot, but I strongly suspect that this current meta will last another couple weeks. Instead of a flood of normies being onboarded, it’s just the same Sol/eth shitcoiners finding a shiny new toy.

Will be absolutely crazy, and not surprising, if this cooks. Most entertaining outcome is the most likely. 🤣

Would be hilarious if Kero’s drop is the next 100x.

It's very tempting to get in the trenches, but the reality is 90% get rekt and 10% make all the gains. Buying the biggest and best memes is fine too, and probably advisable to most.

Bitcoin DA 12 months ago, we were just curious if we could build DA on Bitcoin. So we started building... ✅ V1: Bitcoin DA w/ Bitcoin File System (Apr 2023) ✅ V2: Hybrid Bitcoin DA w/ Polygon (Sep 2023) ✅ V3: More Hybrid Bitcoin DA w/ Celestia, Near DA, Eigen, Filecoin, and Avail (Feb 2024) 🔲 V4: Autopilot Bitcoin DA w/ Hotswap (Apr 2024) While it may sound unsexy, decentralized storage is one of the most important problems for blockchain. At the end of the day, blockchain is a fancier way of calling a ledger that needs to be stored forever. In the last 12 months, we’ve been working on different iterations of Bitcoin storage solutions. Our hope is that we can design a flexible and powerful storage module for builders to customize and launch their own Bitcoin L2 on @BVMnetwork. ✅ V1: Bitcoin DA w/ Bitcoin File System (Apr 2023) In April 2023, we shipped the first version of Bitcoin DA under the code name Bitcoin File System. Back then, we were chatting with @punk8868 at @spiritdao. They had a 6.9 MB banner that they wanted to store on Bitcoin forever. Bitcoin has a limitation of 4 MB, so how could we store a 6.9 MB file on Bitcoin? BVM supports smart contracts on Bitcoin. So, we wrote a smart contract that splits a large file into smaller chunks and writes them to Bitcoin. When we need to retrieve the content, the smart contract fetches the chunks and merges them back to display. While this is the most “durable” storage design, it is expensive. As a gift to Spirit DAO, we spent about 1 BTC to write this single file to Bitcoin. The design: teapawt.org/punk3700/status/… ✅ V2: Hybrid Bitcoin DA with Polygon (Sep 2023) When we started working on Bitcoin L2 solutions, Bitcoin DA V1 became too expensive. Bitcoin L2s roll up multiple @Optimism OP Stack blocks frequently onto Bitcoin, and the write costs get expensive very quickly. We went back to the drawing board and redesigned it. Instead of storing everything on Bitcoin, we store the data on Polygon and store the transaction hash on Bitcoin. While you could argue that this is not 100% pure Bitcoin, it is a pragmatic solution. The data written on Bitcoin is minimal. Simply a Polygon transaction hash. { “tx_hash”: “123” } The design: docs.bvm.network/bvm/blockch… ✅ V3: More Hybrid Bitcoin DA w/ Celestia, Near DA, Eigen, Filecoin, and Avail (Feb 2024) As a modular Bitcoin infrastructure, we believe that the more modules, the better. This would give builders more choices to build their own Bitcoin L2 in whatever way they like. So, in addition to @0xPolygon, we started adding other DAs like @CelestiaOrg, @Filecoin, @NEARProtocol DA, @eigen_da, and @AvailProject. When you launch your own Bitcoin L2 with BVM, you can choose your preferred storage solution. The data written on Bitcoin is still minimal. We just added another field to track the DA being used. { “tx_hash”: 123, “da_type”: “celestia” } Try to create your own Bitcoin L2 here for free: bvm.network/blockchains/cust… 🔲 V4: Autopilot Bitcoin DA w/ Hotswap (Apr 2024) We ran an interesting experiment last month. We were curious if we could swap out a DA for a Bitcoin L2 that is already running. We first encountered this issue with the @naka_chain, a Bitcoin L2 designed for DeFi. For a couple of days, Celestia was a bit unresponsive, so we had to switch from Celestia to Polygon to keep Naka running while people were trading. It worked! Now you could have your Bitcoin L2 references to data in multiple DAs. For each batch of data that the Bitcoin L2 rolls up to, it will have a reference to the DA. So, for some batches of data, you could write to Celestia, and for some other batches of data, you could write to Filecoin. The data written on Bitcoin is still minimal. We added the third field indicating which roll-up batch is being written to which DA. { “tx_hash”: 123, “da_type”: “celestia”, “batch_id”: 10 } We really liked this approach. Our team has gone back to the drawing board again. In April, when we ship V4, builders have a couple of cool features. 1) Manual Bitcoin DA There will be a dashboard where builders can come in and change the DA at any time. This is a manual process, and the builders have full control over their DA. 2) Autopilot Bitcoin DA w/ Hotswap If you don’t have a strong preference on which DA to use, you can leave it up to the Autopilot algorithm. Every time there is a new batch of data from your Bitcoin L2, the algorithm will look at the cost of storage in real-time across all DAs (based on the gas fees and the token price) and write to the most affordable one. If, at time T, the storage cost to write this batch of data to Celestia is the cheapest, it will write to Celestia. If, at time T+1, the storage cost to write the next batch of data to Avail is the cheapest, it will write to Avail. We think Autopilot Bitcoin DA could be really helpful for a lot of builders. It will optimize the storage cost for their Bitcoin L2s. – If you’ve made it to this point, I hope you like what we’re experimenting with DA on Bitcoin. Any feedback is much appreciated. And if you’re a builder thinking about building your own Bitcoin L2, my DM is open! @BVMnetwork could help you launch your own Bitcoin L2 in a few days. See you on #Bitcoin
