Having tried CAD and 3D printing to make the new slide holder screening is officially underway! Sizeable and curated data are essential for our application of #MachineLearning and after we couldn’t find one suitable, we set out to make our own. 8 crystals down… many more to go!

By combining the platform with #DeepLearning, we aim to achieve rapid and reproducible morphology labelling for pharmaceutical crystals. Check out the video of it in action before it gets installed properly in the lab tomorrow!

The Cambridge Structural Database is the largest source of crystallographic data, yet notoriously data hungry AI methods fail to predict crystal morphology with it.

Group Leader Chick ran the "Virtual Bath Half" close to home in Glos this morning, rather than attend the mass event; the movement started given likely imminent banning of mass gatherings in the UK. VBH runners got together online to ensure charities would still benefit.
Iron triazole spin-crossover polymers can reversibly switch colour when heated, but the switching process is highly size dependant. Vapourtec show a great demonstration of how we use #flowchemistry to control particle size in the #synthesis of #nanoparticles. xitter.cf/vapourtec/status/98870…
