The Canadian family that was conned by Kremlin propaganda into selling all their assets and moving to Russia under the "traditional values" visa is now facing a dilemma after months of finding off pressure to sign a military contract.
After investing their life savings into cosplaying an episode of 1980's American hit TV show "Little House on the Prairie", the family's patriarch now faces the choice of becoming wormfood in a Ukrainian trench or attempting a return to Canada.

Russians can do the most evil shit, face the most minimal of consequences for the first time ever, and still have the temerity to truly believe that they are the victims.

This is what life in Ukraine looked like until 2022. Ukrainians had no rights in Ukraine at all - all rights belonged to the Russians.

Meanwhile, Italian snowboarder Roland Fischnaller is competing at the Olympic Games wearing a helmet emblazoned with the Russian flag.
According to the rules of the 2026 Olympic Games, any display of Russian or Belarusian flags (including historical ones) at official venues is strictly prohibited.
However, the committee's press office was unable to explain to the media why the Italian was allowed to circumvent the ban. The IOC simply stated that the flags on the helmet symbolize the countries where the athlete has previously competed in the Olympic Games.
Another low point of double standards has been reached.
Russian athletes are allowed to represent their country at the Olympic Games, a country that has committed over 160,000 war crimes in Ukraine.
The International Olympic Committee has once again proven that its much-vaunted "political neutrality" is nothing but cynical hypocrisy—a farce that serves primarily one purpose: to keep inconvenient truths about Russia's war of annihilation against Ukraine out of the Olympic arenas, while simultaneously welcoming perpetrators and profiteers of this war with open arms.
Vladyslav Heraskevych, the Ukrainian skeleton racer and flag bearer for his country at the opening ceremony in Milan-Cortina, wanted to create a silent, dignified memorial to his murdered teammates with a specially designed helmet.
The IOC? Banned the helmet, citing Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter—that infamous rule that prohibits "any kind of demonstration or political, religious, or racial propaganda" at Olympic venues. Commemorating murdered athletes through their portraits is therefore deemed "political." Period.
At the same time, the same IOC invites Russian and Belarusian athletes as "neutral athletes"—people whose sports federations are controlled by the Kremlin, whose national anthems and flags have for years stood for doping fraud and military aggression, and many of whom openly cooperate with or support the Putin regime.
This "neutrality" apparently only applies in one direction: Ukrainian victims must not be visible. Russian perpetrators and their supporters must. This is not the application of rules. This is selective censorship. This is appeasement of an aggressor state while mocking the victim.
The IOC is not protecting apolitical sport – it is protecting the feelings of those who order bombings of athletes and silencing the bereaved.
Heraskevych put it more succinctly than any press release from Lausanne: “The feeling that the IOC is betraying those athletes who were part of the Olympic movement, not allowing them to be honored on the sports arena where these athletes will never be able to step again.”
That is precisely what is happening right now. The IOC is betraying the murdered athletes through cowardice and hypocrisy.

It's russian "neutral" athletes who should be banned. Not the symbols honouring Ukrainian athletes killed by russia. Shame on you @iocmedia

The IOC has banned the use of my helmet at official training sessions and competitions 💔
A decision that simply breaks my heart. The feeling that the IOC is betraying those athletes who were part of the Olympic movement, not allowing them to be honored on the sports arena where these athletes will never be able to step again.
Despite precedents in modern times and in the past when the IOC allowed such tributes, this time they decided to set special rules just for Ukraine.
We are preparing an official request to the IOC and will fight for the right to compete in this exact helmet.

Real talk. I have trained Ukrainian troops for three years straight, and saying we “owe them nothing” is not just wrong, it is dangerous.
People forget very quickly. Ukraine stood with us in Iraq and Afghanistan. They sent troops, bled beside our soldiers, and never asked for anything in return. They did it because they believed in the West, in democracy, and in the idea that free nations stand together.
And now, for four years, Ukraine has been fighting the enemy that has openly wished death on the United States many times. The same enemy that still keeps nuclear weapons pointed at every major American city and every piece of critical infrastructure we depend on. How anyone can say that their fight has nothing to do with us is beyond me.
This kind of talk is exactly what Americans were saying before World War Two. We called it “not our war.” We insisted Europe’s problems were not our problems. Yet we still sent equipment. We still had volunteer pilots fighting for the United Kingdom. And it took Pearl Harbor to finally wake us up and show us that isolation and indifference were mistakes that cost countless lives.
When will we learn that in the world we live in today, everything is connected. There is no isolation. Not when dictators are reshaping borders by force. Not when war criminals hold nuclear stockpiles. Not when democracies fall one by one if no one helps. Appeasement does not stop tyrants. Appeasement encourages them.
I have trained thousands of Ukrainian soldiers. I have watched them fight for their land, their families, and frankly for the rest of us. To pretend that their struggle does not affect the United States is to ignore every lesson history has ever taught us. The red line where this “becomes our problem” was crossed a long time ago. Thinking otherwise only helps the people we should be standing against.
This kind of thinking is not realism. It is the beginning of another disaster we will regret later.
If America actually wants stability and peace, we cannot abandon a nation fighting the front line of that global struggle.
We either help now, or we will pay a heavier price later.

Imagine thinking Ukrainians think this war is "the Jews' war." Ukrainians know russians very well and know they are motivated by imperialism that's been their thing for a few centuries. I can't wait to get back to the states to reeducate folks who think like this.
