Two bunkers that changed golf course architecture forever. Thank you, Stuart Paton and John Low.

Two things at @WokingGolf to file straight into the elite cabinet: The ginger snaps on arrival, served in honour of Bobby Jones. And the bar’s octagonal tables with their angled chairs, which tie together so perfectly.

There are many views of our course that never get old. One of them is definitely playing to the clubhouse's doorstep on the 14th. And the clubhouse is so welcoming, it's often a chore to play the final four.

The heather's gone back into hibernation, but autumn at Woking remains an extremely special time.

Congratulations to our ladies, who won the Surrey Scratch Hicks Plate final on Sunday. This is a phenomenal achievement for a ladies' section as small as ours. Our scratch team of 15 have performed superbly since the spring, and every one of them has played a part in it.

Playing through our heather and pines, it's easy to forget London is just 19 minutes away by train. That same railway connection is what made our site Surrey's first heathland course in 1893, and still enables us to be one of the fastest escapes from the city 133 years on.

"Love your job and you'll never work a day in your life." We're lucky to have David as our Course Manager, and the improvements the course has seen in recent years are a testament to his leadership.

With careful consideration to our tree management responsibilities in recent years, we have opened up our playing corridors, promoted heather regeneration, and improved fairway agronomy. A bi-product of this is how good the course looks now, which is no bad thing.

Congratulations to Matt Daniels on winning our Annual Scratch Medal at the weekend. At just 17, he's our youngest winner in some time, and joins an illustrious list of Woking members on the board, including Paton, Darwin, Wethered, Harris, Hutchinson and Micklem.

We're proud of lots of things here, but nothing more so than our illustrious history - from being the home of strategic design to the legendary names who have called us home over the years.

Our pavilion-style clubhouse is so enchanting that members often struggle to tear themselves away.

It's been a tough summer, but this team has done an amazing job keeping our course healthy and presenting a superb experience every single day. We try and celebrate them every day, with today being #ThankAGreenkeeper Day, they deserve a special mention.
