UK recruiters are making a killing charging illegal recruitment fees to seasonal migrant workers. This is becoming more rife with the growth of the UK govt's seasonal worker scheme. Get in touch with us if you or someone you know is affected. thebureauinvestigates.com/st…

"The business will come back, but the staffing won’t come back this summertime." The industry has spent nearly 2 years shooting itself in the foot by refusing to address this. These are the consequences. Working conditions desperately need to improve. heraldscotland.com/business_…

The crisis of low pay in precarious work is nothing new, but the rapid and substantial increase in the cost of living is placing so many workers in a dire and unsustainable position.

Crieff Hydro complain to the council and the press about how 'the locals don't want to work', when they're advertising jobs like this. Not a single one of their listings specifies salary. Why isn't this mentioned in the @STVNews article?

If you work at any of the hotels in the Crieff Hydro 'family', please let us know how you think they could make these jobs more attractive...

STV missing out the split shifts and 0 hrs contracts - offer decent t’s and c’s and you can fill any job

Part time, casual and split shifts, what more could a potential employee want or need? Disgraceful.

Many of our members are still having to make requests over and over for holiday pay they are owed, and being ignored. This is a bare minimum ask and legal requirement and the company can’t even fulfil it. This is far from over.

Trains across most of Scotland will stop running at 4pm today, with 'danger to life' warnings issued. If it's not safe to be on public transport, you should be allowed to go home without any loss of pay. Let us know if you have any problems.

£4.45m from the publicly-owned SNIB for Highland Coast Hotels. That'd be same HCH who sacked and evicted workers without warning in September. If the purpose of SNIB is to create a 'fairer, more sustainable economy', more oversight is desperately needed. scotsman.com/business/scotti…
