Could only get some data for the night but here are some averages of Uber vs Tesla robotaxi wait times and pricing. It is pretty neck in neck
You can ride in a robotaxi in Houston for almost 2 hrs and still just go from one end to the other. That is how massive the geofence is
Seems like in markets except Austin, robotaxi is still a whole lot cheaper. Not sure why Austin is the only place where they are doing the Uber price matching
Well update. Houston now has 73 robptaxis registered. Still need a lot more for this geofence size
Yessssss. I always try to rent a Tesla with FSD and Turo is the only way to do it but so hard to make sure the car has FSD
Car rental marketplace Turo is introducing the first verified @Tesla FSD (Supervised) rental experience for travelers in the U.S.
Starting on October 28, Turo guests will be able to search, discover, and book Tesla vehicles with FSD (Supervised) activated, using direct API integration to verify FSD status.
Eligible Turo “hosts” who rent out their cars on the platform will also receive a free one-month trial of FSD. Turo said it is working with Tesla to directly access the automaker’s API to verify which cars have FSD enabled.
CEO of Turo. "Our own research shows that 55% of Americans are interested in driverless technology for travel, growing to 71% for Gen Z."
Currently there are only 28 Tesla robotaxi VINs registered in Houston. With the new geofence expansion being so large, they will need to add a lot more cars. Houston geofence is very close to Austin in size now so the fleet needs to scale up proportionally too
So all these Cybercabs added recently went to Austin. I mean it is obvious but just confirming it for those who want that confirmation
I want to ride in a Ojai in Dallas but keep getting matched to an I-Pace. I’ve already ridden in those 😩 I want to ride in the new car
