Endoscopic surgery for ventral CSF leaks has emerged as a minimally invasive alternative to classic intradural surgery. Both have pros and cons, but the alternate approach may be ideal for patients who have failed the initial surgery @spinalCSFleak pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4282…
Chronic ventral or lateral spinal CSF leaks can cause progressive weakness and atrophy of the shoulders and upper extremities. It is often misdiagnosed and can mimic ALS. Early surgical repair is crucial @spinalCSFleak @alsassociation @issclsociety neurology.org/doi/10.1212/WN…

Spinal CSF-venous fistulas almost always arise from meningeal diverticula. The diverticular size can vary from tiny (submillimeter) to massive (think dural ectasia). At least one-third of diverticula change size when a fistula forms @spinalCSFleak pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4173…
