The last phone call Lil Jon ever had with his son was him calling back to say sorry. He had no idea it would be the last time he'd hear Nathan's voice.
Nathan was 27. NYU grad, music producer, DJ'd under the name Young Slade. For about four years he'd been dealing with physical pain and a lot going on emotionally, and he was in therapy working on it. His dad kept riding him to take better care of himself, and Nathan finally asked him to give him some credit for how hard he was trying.
Then early one Saturday morning, Nathan sent him a text.
"My love for you is stronger than my fear."
Jon took the whole back-and-forth to his own therapist, who told him something pretty simple. His son just wanted to be heard and seen.
So he picked up the phone, told Nathan he was sorry, and told him he could see how hard he'd been trying.
The next morning Nathan ran out of his house in Milton, Georgia around 6am and left his phone behind. He had a therapy appointment on the books that same day. Three days later a dive team found him in a pond at a park near his house. The medical examiner ruled it an accidental drowning.
Jon had pretty much finished writing his memoir when this happened. He'd already named it I Only Shout So You Can Hear Me. This is a guy who's been yelling WHAT and YEAH on records for 30 years, and he built the title of his whole life story around wanting people to hear him.
Read that title again now that you know about the phone call.
He went back into the book, wrote a new chapter about Nathan, and dedicated the whole thing to him. It came out last Tuesday. His co-writer Paul Cantor says he never had one conversation with Jon where Nathan didn't come up.
After Nathan died, Jon says he basically lived on the couch for months. So in this clip you're watching a guy talk about dragging himself back up because his daughter and his partner deserve the best of him. He says he had to relearn how to smile and laugh. And he thanks Allah for giving him 27 years with his son.
Nathan was a teenager hanging around the studio when Turn Down for What got made, and his dad called him his good-luck charm. Ten years later Nathan was engineering his father's meditation album. In an interview last year, Nathan said his dad always showed up for him.
The man famous for shouting so you'd hear him spent his last call with his son making sure Nathan knew he'd been heard.
Keke Palmer got EMOTIONAL and teared up as Lil Jon opened up about GRIEVING the tragic loss of his 27-year-old son Nathan, revealing how he had to learn to SMILE AGAIN, find joy in life and pull himself out of a DARK PLACE for his family 💔
“I realized I had to pick myself up, because my daughter and my partner deserve the best of me. I had to learn to smile again and laugh again… I have gratitude for Allah for giving me my son for 27 years. I appreciate every memory… If I can get through it, you can get through it. You have to keep living, keep spreading love, and keep spreading joy”
Riddle me this, Batman: if trad wives are so sought after, why do so many weird conservative men pursue women they politically disagree with, often hiding their own beliefs to do so? Hmmm?
Why are most of the popular trad wife creators subtly shifting their content, too? Hmm?
They don’t actually want trad wives, that’s the issue. They want to subjugate independent women, who know they’re unworthy of being decent partners. Otherwise, why bother with the deception?
This was, unironically, always my bar drink of choice 💀
Move over, Aperol spritzes and espresso martinis — there’s a new drink of the summer. The beverage of the effortlessly cool and, as Olivia Rodrigo sings, the open-hearted: the vodka-cran. thecut.com/article/vodka-cra…
REMINDER: On Tuesday, November 17, 2026, around 2:20 p.m. ET, FEMA and @FCC will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS).
The test will air on radio and TV only and will not be sent to mobile phones. No action is needed from the public.
This is why the superintendent kowtowing to these morons earlier this year with an insane policy to contact every parent of a kid who goes by a nickname was a waste of our time and energy. They don’t care about facts.
The Justice Department is suing Anne Arundel County Public Schools, alleging the district helped students use different names and pronouns at school without notifying their parents. bit.ly/4jMy8Pt

BREAKING: House Democrats have preemptively introduced a resolution to stop the federal government from bailing out AI companies in the event of the industry collapsing. The bill says these companies should be subjected to the ordinary bankruptcy process.
As a childless millennial, I thank god for the mothers I’m friends with, because they definitely don’t/didn’t act like these online weirdos about our wedding, or including us in kid free time themselves. We also openly love hard on their kids, too, because that’s a village, baby.
Apple disabling your ability to turn off Apple Intelligence en masse would be bad in any regard, but it completely reset my settings for every single app, including financial ones. Check it hasn’t changed yours, either.

I feel like Jared Kushner being at the center of the plot that ultimately led to an American journalist being dismembered via bone saw while he was still alive should be a much bigger deal than our billionaire owned news media is making of it.
I’m a pretty lapse Protestant at this point in my life, but had I seen this woman, I would have immediately assumed she was struggling/in need of community or guidance. Instead of tweeting about her, I wonder if it ever crossed OP’s mind to show grace, compassion, and fellowship.
Woman at church yesterday showed up in a sweatshirt and literal pajama pants. Wore her hood the entire service. I was absolutely appalled. I hate this whole, “came as you are” narrative the Protestant church preaches. Other religions wouldn’t let you in if you dressed so disrespectfully. Why is it only Christian’s that are held to this standard? That we must just accept everything?
I have a ton of questions for all the humans involved in this:
1. What was the family told about the pug’s condition?
2. Was euthanasia the option because it was what they could afford?
3. Why didn’t they stay with their dog?
4. Did the vet not offer ethical surrender if price…
🚨#BREAKING: A family in Georgia is outraged after they paid to have their 4-year-old pug named Cha Cha euthanized...
...and then MONTHS LATER later saw a photo on Facebook of their dog ALIVE AND WELL with a vet from the animal hospital
The story is wild.
According to the family, Cha Cha the dog got very sick, the vets told them it was organ failure and diabetic ketoacidosis... so the family decided euthanisia was the best course of action.
The family said goodbye in March, paid the bill, and went home grieving.
But according to the family, someone at that hospital was very attached to Cha Cha, because a worker took her home instead.
Months later, Rebecca (the owner of Cha Cha) was scrolling Facebook and saw a photo.
Her words: “I knew scrolling like that’s my dog.”
Even more wild...the vet's husband confirmed it, his wife not only had Cha Cha, but he says the pug was in GOOD HEALTH.
The dog they were told was dying was actually ALIVE and DOING WELL.
But it gets worse.
When the family went to the hospital, managers DENIED IT, Rebecca says they got a LAWYER and won’t talk about it.
Then, the family believes, the hospital put Cha Cha down to hide what happened.
Rebecca’s words:
“The fact that they put a healthy dog down. That’s just sick.”
And this is NOT the first time.
Earlier this year, another family said their cat Annie was supposed to be euthanized at the SAME hospital, and a worker took her home too.
The hospital admitted it “fell short” that time.
And Annie? She was put down too.
So twice now, a dog or cat has been alive and cared for after the family said goodbye.
...this is beyond insane

it's funnier people can't understand the cruelty towards women is the issue not that he кills them, like terrifier is so fucking misogynistic it almost reads as a feminist deconstruction of slasher films similar to ash from evil dead & Johnny bravo being critiques of womanizers.
