A story I made up: 2B felt something unusual in her left arm. It wasn't exactly painful, but there was a strange delay whenever she tried to move her fingers. "Huh? That's strange..." Pod 042 immediately responded. "Warning: Irregular response detected in YoRHa unit 2B's left arm actuator system." "I'm aware." Could it have been something that happened during her latest mission? 2B considered asking 9S to check it later, but she wasn't sure whether it was serious enough to warrant his attention. "..." Around the corner, 7S happened to walk by and noticed her troubled expression. "Oh, you... You're 2B, right? 9S's partner?" 2B turned towards him. "You are...?" "Ah, sorry. I'm 7S. I've heard a lot about you from 9S. You seemed a little troubled just now. Is something wrong?" "It's nothing. There's just a slight delay in my left arm's response." "I see. Well, want me to check it for you? If there's something wrong, I can perform some maintenance." "Ah, no... 9S is usually the one who handles my maintenance." She was about to reply when a familiar voice came from around the corner. "Eh? 2B?" 9S appeared with a wide smile, jogging towards them. He must have finished his work earlier than expected. "Hey! What are you doing here, 2B? And..." He turned towards the other Scanner. "7S? You two were talking about something?" "7S just offered to perform maintenance on me since my left arm seems to be responding a little slower than usual," 2B replied evenly. 9S hummed. "I see... Well, since I'm here now, I can take care of it for you, 2B. I'm much more familiar with your internal systems, after all." "Got it." "You can go back to your room first, 2B. There's something I'd like to discuss with 7S. I'll join you later." "Alright." As 2B disappeared from their sight, 9S turned back towards 7S. His smile vanished. He grabbed the front of 7S's uniform, his voice suddenly dropping to a low, threatening tone. "What do you think you're doing?" 7S froze. "H-Huh?" "The one in charge of 2B's maintenance is me, you know? And you just offered to do it for her." His grip tightened. "Do you think I'll just let her lie there in front of you in her most vulnerable state while you explore her internal systems and adjust her settings however you please?" "What? We're just talking about maintenance, right? What's gotten you so worked up?" 9S's grip tightened further. His eyes were filled with an unsettling possessiveness. "You'd better not even think about touching her vibration settings." "What?! I was just trying to find the problem and fix it because she said something was wrong with her arm! Calm down, 9S!" "...Are you sure that's all?" His eyes remained fixed on 7S. "I swear! Now can you let me go? You're ruining my uniform!" "..." After a moment, 9S finally released him. "Fine. But remember, I'm the only one who's allowed to perform her maintenance. She's mine to take care of. Me. Only me. Understand?" 7S straightened his uniform and sighed. "Fine. 2B is yours. Only yours. I'll never ask to do something like that again. Satisfied?" 9S seemed satisfied with that answer, at least for now. He gave a small nod. "Very well." He turned around. "Now, excuse me. I can't keep 2B waiting too long." 7S watched him walk away before finally muttering to himself. "...The hell was that?"
