🚨–– Xander Schauffele is in the initial field for the Hero World Challenge in December. 👀 It seemed like his year was over after last week in Japan, but it looks like he'll play at Tiger's event in The Bahamas for the first time since 2023. Will be a nice way to end 2026!

Xander Schauffele finishes T4 in his title defense at the Baycurrent Classic. 👏 No one was better than Xander over this weekend at Yokohama Country Club, even with 2 double bogeys on the card, but he was sadly in too big of a deficit to come back from. Ends 2026 with one of the best finishes of his season! Well done.

Brutal double bogey at the last. Not a fun way to end the season. Damage done off the tee. Xander ends his week at -13. Oh well.

Had a 35 footer for birdie at 16 and he leaves it short. Short, short, short, short, short. Needs to birdie the last 2 unless he gets serious help.

Great par save for Xander at 15. Keeps him alive, even if his chances are slim. Onto the tough par 3 16th, although a birdie would do him quite a lot of good.

Got aggressive with a wedge in hand at 15 and dumped it in the bunker. Damn. Love the intent. Needs to get up and down for a remote chance which may be impossible if he's plugged.

Xander cleans up a 5 footer to save par at 14. Calling this coverage abysmal would be a compliment. The defending champion is in the mix and I have zero clue what he's doing. Currently -14. Needs to get to -16 at minimum for a chance.

Had 15 feet for birdie at 13 and hit a straight up bad putt. He hated it off the blade. That stings a bit. Still in this thing though.

Bogey for both of the leaders at 12... Xander Schauffele drives it right of the green at 13. If he gets this up and down he will tied the lead at the Baycurrent Classic. Whoa.

Leaders continue to shoot themselves in the foot. They are trying to give Xander a chance. He's got a drivable par 4 now too. Birdie this and he'll likely be 1 back.

He had a 25 footer that he left short in the jaws. I always try my best out of respect to Xander and Austin to be positive but that's the shot that has signified this year. So many putts left short in the middle. Multiple per round.

Routine par at the par 4 10th. Luckily I wouldn't say any of these leaders are known as prolific closers. Shooting themselves in the foot at the moment. Still 3 shots back. 8 holes left.

Par to end the front nine. Out in -4, 32. He's walking on thin ice, but he's still got a chance. Probably needs to shoot 30 on the back but we'll see.
