News: At least a dozen civilians killed in yet another army drone strike in #Tigray’s #Rama town
At least 12 civilians were killed and several others injured in the latest drone strike targeting civilians collecting grain scattered from a truck that had been hit by a drone the previous evening in Rama town, Central Tigray, according local sources.
The attack occurred on Friday morning, October 30, when a drone struck civilians who had gathered to collect sorghum from a private truck carrying grain belonging to local traders. The truck had been hit by a drone strike at around 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, in the center of Rama town.
A local source who contacted #Addis_Standard by email said 12 civilians were killed instantly, while several others sustained injuries, including serious ones.
The situation remained critical, with some of the seriously injured requiring urgent medical attention but no available transportation to take them to hospitals

Orma descendants say more than 540 years have passed since their ancestors left Oromia. Despite the distance and the various pressures they have faced, they say they continue to protect their language and identity. Lying on a hospital bed, rolled-up blankets propping up the remains of her legs, 10-year-old double-amputee Iyerusalem is among scores of civilians wounded in northern Ethiopia after fighting erupted last month.

"I was in our compound with my older brother and our horse when we were hit. My brother and the horse died," she told AFP from Ayder Comprehensive Specialized Hospital in #Mekelle, capital of the northern Tigray state.
Many of the wounded live in remote villages hours from the hospital along difficult roads where there has been fighting and shelling.
"Right now, my amputated legs hurt badly," said Iyerusalem, who comes from Qarsole village in Alamata district, south of Mekelle.
"If I get medical treatment and can walk again, I want to go back to school," she said, as her father Hiluf watched anxiously.
