A senior writer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Ghost of Yōtei has joined Bethesda Game Studios, presumably to work on the next Elder Scrolls game. If you've seen how terrible Starfield was, and how censored Oblivion Remastered was, this shouldn't come as a surprise. Your expectations for Bethesda should already be rock-bottom. And given that we now have Chris Avellone's account of BioWare hiring people based on their political beliefs (linking my post on that in case you missed it), and that this is almost certainly an industry-wide practice, it's hardly surprising that this Veilguard writer had no difficulty finding new work. This is yet another example of failed studio rejects being rehired by their ideological allies at other game studios that are also marching toward their doom. I'm afraid the Western video game industry is most likely doomed to collapse entirely before it can be rebuilt.
