API Penetesting Tip: API Key & Secret Leakage in Client-Side Assets Look for: Hardcoded keys and tokens in JS bundles, mobile app packages, source maps, and config files — search for apiKey, secret, token, Authorization, Bearer, AKIA, AIza, sk_live, Firebase/Supabase configs, and cloud provider credentials. Test by pulling /static/js/*.js, .map files, /config.json, /env.js, and decompiling APKs/IPAs; grep for provider prefixes and validate keys against their APIs with minimal, read-only calls to confirm scope without abuse. If valid and over-scoped, it may enable data access, billing abuse, auth bypass, or full account takeover. API Penetesting Tip: Server-Side Request Forgery via URL Parameters Look for: Parameters that accept URLs or hosts — url=, image=, webhook=, callback=, proxy=, fetch=, redirect=, avatar=, PDF/screenshot generators, and import-from-URL features. Test by pointing them at internal targets: http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/, http://localhost:PORT/, http://127.0.0.1/, internal hostnames, and cloud metadata endpoints; try bypasses like http://[::1]/, decimal/hex IPs, @-tricks, DNS rebinding, and open redirects to reach internal services. If accepted, it may enable cloud credential theft, internal service access, port scanning, or RCE via internal admin panels. JS Code Review Tip - Server-Side Template Injection (SSTI) Grep for user input rendered into a template string rather than passed as data: Vulnerable: user input compiled as template code res.send(ejs.render(req.query.tpl, {})); res.send(Handlebars.compile(req.body.text)()); res.send(pug.render(req.query.view)); Test: send {{7*7}} — if the response contains 49, the engine evaluated it. Escalate with {{constructor.constructor('return process')()}} or <%= global.process.mainModule.require('child_process').execSync('id') %> for RCE. Grep for: render(req., compile(req., template(req., new Function(req., eval(, and any res.send( where a template string includes request data. Also check _.template, doT, nunjucks.renderString. Bug Bounty Tip: Account Takeover via Unverified Email Change Look for: POST /change-email with {"new_email":"[email protected]"} - and check if the change takes effect before verification. Test by changing email to an attacker-controlled address, then triggering a password reset - if the reset link arrives at the new email without verification, it's exploitable. If the app trusts the unverified email for auth flows, it may indicate Unverified Email Change, enabling account takeover without victim interaction. Bug Bounty Tip: HTTP Request Smuggling via Timing Signals Look for: Front-end/back-end proxy chains — check Transfer-Encoding and Content-Length handling on POST endpoints Test payload: Transfer-Encoding: chunked + Content-Length mismatch — response delays or desynced replies confirm smuggling For more tips join our Telegram channel: t.me/bugbountyusa #BugBounty #RequestSmuggling #PayloadFuzzing #InfoSec

Kali Tool Tip: Gobuster Save your settings so you stop retyping them: keep your go-to mode and flags in a shell alias, e.g. alias gbust='gobuster dir -w /usr/share/wordlists/dirb/common.txt -t 30 -o gobuster.txt'. Set wordlist, threads, and output once, swap only the URL. Practice: Run one dir scan, then check your web logs for the burst of 404s from a single IP and Gobuster's default User-Agent. No alert on rapid 404 floods = your next detection rule. For more tips join our Telegram channel: t.me/bugbountyusa #KaliLinux #Gobuster #InfoSec #BlueTeam #TTPs

API Penetesting Tip: BFLA - Broken Function Level Authorization Look for: Admin/privileged API routes reachable by low-priv or unauthenticated users - /api/v1/admin/*, /api/internal/*, /api/v1/users/{id}/role, /api/v1/billing/refund, /api/v1/config. Test by calling privileged endpoints with a standard user token, no token, or a token from a different role/tenant; try method swaps (GET→POST/PUT/DELETE), version downgrades (/v1/→/v0/), and path tricks (/admin/→/Admin/, /./admin/, //admin/) to slip past route-level checks. If accepted, it may enable privilege escalation, mass data export, config tampering, or full tenant takeover. For more tips join: t.me/bugbountyusa #BugBounty #APISecurity #BFLA #PrivEsc #InfoSec

WebVerse Pro's TwinTone is a free medium lab where a guest account's settings update has no field allowlist, letting you over-post role=admin, then reach an expense report title that is evaluated as an ERB template and gives RCE to read the flag. MITRE ATT&CK Learning Tip Use the ATT&CK ID numbering system as a quick reference: Techniques are formatted as Txxxx (e.g., T1059 Command and Scripting Interpreter), and sub-techniques add a decimal suffix Txxxx.yyy (e.g., T1059.001 PowerShell, T1059.003 Windows Command Shell). When you see a specific ID in a report, you can immediately know which major category it belongs to and which specific implementation it is. Practice: When reading a threat report, first look at the sub-technique ID (with decimal) rather than just the main technique ID the sub-technique is what tells you the specific detection details (process names, command-line patterns).
