This quote resonated deeply with me because when you lie to someone, you don’t just hurt them you pull the rug out from under them. Suddenly, they begin analyzing every word you say, revisiting every sweet memory you shared, and asking themselves , I wonder, was it real, or was it all just an act ? Because trust isn’t built overnight. It is the result of years of effort, shared experiences, difficult situations, and sacrifices. One lie, even a small one, is like a drop of ink falling into a glass of pure water. In a single moment, it changes its clarity, and no matter how much you wish otherwise, you can never look at that water the same way again.
