No one should have to risk their health or, in the worst cases, their lives at the hands of cosmetic cowboys.
People deserve proper care not to be exploited as a way to make quick money.
Our new rules will ensure high-risk procedures are only carried out by properly trained professionals, protect under-18s and hold rogue providers to account.

Why I’ve made maternity care a priority for our NHS.
And why I won’t stop until every family gets the care they deserve.
Because women and babies must never be treated as second class patients.

On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the nearly 3,000 people who were killed, including 67 Britons.
My thoughts are with all those who lost friends and family members that terrible day. Time may pass, but I know the grief is still felt just as deeply today.
On this anniversary, we must remember that hatred and fear did not have the last word on 9/11. The terrorists sought to weaken and divide America, and everyone who believes in the values our countries share.
But our response was clear: those who seek to destroy our way of life will never win.
I saw that same defiance in Greater Manchester. When I was Mayor, Manchester was the victim of two horrific terrorist attacks. I will never forget the messages of support and friendship from people across America who knew better than anyone the suffering of our city.
Some of the children of those killed in the 9/11 attacks wrote to the families of the people killed in Manchester, and they said this: We are you and you are us. We are one.
We will never forget these terrible events, but we refuse to be defined by them. Terror still knocks on the door of democracy, but the United Kingdom and the United States stand together in memory of those we lost, and in defence of the values we cherish.
We are you and you are us. And we will prevail.
Today I announced 950 projects across England worth £1.5bn to make hospitals safer for patients and staff.
To make our NHS more resilient, including to extreme weather. To tackle the backlog in NHS capital investment since 2009 step by step.

Building an NHS fit for the future means making our hospitals more resilient for extreme weather in the winter and extreme heat in the summer, and investing in new operating theatres, children's wards, maternity units and mental health facilities.

Strong agreement across the world on today’s UK action against illegal settlements and settler violence that are an existential threat to the two state solution. No one should be profiting from stolen land.

Cervical cancer is preventable. Starting today, 4 million women who have fallen behind on cervical screening will be offered a free HPV self-testing kit. Our NHS - making it easier to stay healthy and there for us all when we need it.

From today, @NHSEngland is inviting women who have fallen behind on their cervical screening to order a HPV self-testing kit.
The free kits can be used at home, making it easier for more women to complete potentially lifesaving checks to help prevent cervical cancer.

Devastated to hear that two police officers have lost their lives while on duty in Cleveland this morning, as well as five members of the public.
My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of everyone involved, and with everyone at Cleveland Police.
Thank you to the emergency services responding in incredibly difficult circumstances.
I would urge people to avoid speculation at this time.

The Health and Social Care Secretary, @YvetteCooperMP, has been talking to staff and patients @NHSHomerton today, as the NHS continues to deliver the highest standards of care despite the extreme heat.
An amber heat-health alert is in place across parts of England from 11-14 August.
Hot weather can put more people at risk, particularly older people, young children and those with existing health conditions.
Take extra care and look out for others.
