@ZackPolanski still telling it as it is… unfazed, unbowed & still highly focused after a plethora of MSM attacks on his character & leadership qualities. His story still has a long, long way to run despite what his detractors would have you believe. A remarkable inner strength.
"This is deeply irresponsible from a Labour government" Zack Polanski speaks to The National about Labour's approval of new gas drilling.

they wouldn't have approved this if the greens won in holborn and st pancras. labour feels they have permission to destroy our planet because of the votes of a few thousand people. we must hold them to account.
I want Britain’s energy wealth to spark a new wave of clean power. Our decision to approve Jackdaw alongside the new Energy Wealth Fund means we invest in green transition and benefit from our existing natural resources.

27 jobs. £0 off your energy bill. £billions for fossil fuel companies.
Sophy Ridge: "@ZackPolanski's also said [going ahead with Jackdaw], its only going to create 27 jobs. Is that right?" The energy secretary confirms that is correct

We have already extracted more oil and gas than we can burn in our lifetimes and still have a habitable planet. The Labour Government is lying to us about the climate disaster. And this same energy secretary admitted earlier in the year this will do nothing to lower our bills.
Energy Secretary @Miatsf says Zack Polanski's criticism about the govt giving the green light to Jackdaw is "complete nonsense". The government claims they can still meet their climate objectives.

Watched NAZA yesterday. At the end, there was total silence, other than the occasional sob. No one moved until the credits stopped rolling. It’s a film which the perpetrators of genocide confessed their crimes. One day that will happen from the dock.

"The science is crystal clear that if we were to burn the reserves in existing oil and gas fields, and those that are planned, we would shoot straight past what scientists and governments have accepted is the threshold for a safe climate." @TessaKhan, energy expert and executive director of Uplift, explains to @AaronBastani why the government's decision to drill for more gas poses a grave threat to humanity. Labour really are bought and paid for by the oil and gas lobby. And they're going to oversee crop failures next year while they make the wildfires and heatwaves worse.
The Govt has seen sense and answered the call of the Industry First Group to drill in the North Sea. Opening up Jackdaw will protect British jobs, enhance energy security and boost tax revenue. The next logical step: approve Rosebank & cut carbon taxes on UK Industry. ⏳

There are estimated to be up to 60,000 Palestinians in the UK. As far as I know, they would be the only people banned from wearing their national flag at school. This is obvious racism.

Labour knows the consequences of the climate crisis. Their own words prove it. Yet when it comes to Jackdaw, they’ve put the fossil fuel industry first.

Criticising Jackdaw isn't nonsense. Labour putting fossil fuel profits ahead of people and the planet is.

Very interesting timing, given Amnesty International just yesterday released a new, extensive report showing how Palestine solidarity and activism is being severely suppressed in universities.

Hi @Sagal_AW! On the campaign trail in Holborn & St Pancras, just two weeks ago, you intimated to LBC that you would oppose new gas and oil drilling at Jackdaw and Rosebank. But, strangely, I can't see your name on this letter from 26 cross-party MPs to Andy Burnham opposing his decision to approve new gas production at Jackdaw? Are you planning to express your opposition to Andy Burnham's decision to approve new gas licences at Jackdaw, and will you do so publicly? Or are you like your predecessor - a politician who makes promises to win power that you then break?
I wrote to the Government with cross-party MPs last night opposing this decision. Rosebank and Jackdaw won’t cut bills they'll just boost profits of fossil fuel giants. If every country pursues its own deluded self interest the costs of climate breakdown will be unbearable.

My colleague Sian Berry is spot on. I know many Labour MPs know the Home Secretary's plans on indefinite leave to remain are cruel and unfair. Now is the time for decent MPs to stand up.

A few thoughts on the announcement that the Jackdaw gas field development will go ahead 🧵 You'll hear claims today arguing we need Jackdaw for various reasons. Primarily some combination of energy security, perhaps cheaper bills and jobs. We should be sceptical of them.
