These levels don’t scare me.
I’ve watched zano:native go from under $1 to $18.18 (Jan 2025), back when all it had was:
• Hybrid PoW/PoS consensus
• Zarcanum (live since March 2024): private staking, hidden amounts
• Confidential Assets (private tokens)
• Ring signatures, stealth addresses, Pedersen commitments
That’s it. That’s what took it to $18.
Now, in 2026, look at what’s stacked on top:
• Gateway Addresses (HF6): verifiable balances for external integrations, paused pending third-party audit
• Thorchain, Maya Protocol, Near Intents: permissionless, no-KYC trading, set to return once that audit clears
• ZEL (Zano Execution Layer): bringing programmable smart contracts to the Zano ecosystem, while Zano L1 remains the privacy chain.
• Zenith: pure proof-of-stake, 15-20s blocks, full privacy preserved, testnet targeting Q4 2026

Lately, several privacy projects have been hit by vulnerabilities, Zano included. Too often, some communities treat it as a chance to attack another coin and promote their own.
The uncomfortable truth: most privacy projects have faced serious incidents at some point, and as AI tools improve, people will only find vulnerabilities more often. The question isn't whether more will be found, but who finds them, how fast they get fixed, and how a project handles the incident.
So let's stop the infighting. The privacy space is already small, and we share the same goal: decentralized, censorship-resistant, private money. We're stronger together than fragmented.
You might laugh at a project's vulnerability today. Tomorrow, it could happen to the one you support.
What actually matters when (and before) it happens:
- Strong audits, security checks, and review processes
- Transparent, honest communication
- Making affected users whole
That's how a project earns back trust. We learned that the hard way.

GW Audit, ZEL, Zenith. The build continues #zAnons! 🫡
Now that the Gateway Addresses incident is behind us and the last few reconciliations are being processed, we can look ahead again.
What are Zano's current priorities?👇
1. Having a reputable third party audit Zano's Gateway Addresses so we can bring them back safely.
- This means the @THORChain integration can continue, and the Zano Execution Layer also depends on it.
2. Launching the Zano Execution Layer.
- This fixes our accessibility issues, brings extra use cases to zano:native, and brings programmability to Confidential Assets such as $FUSD.
3. Activating Zenith (full PoS consensus with hidden amounts) on Zano mainnet.
- The peak of Zano consensus, further increasing network security, allowing us to have 15-20s block times with just 4-6 block confirmations before you can spend received assets (full confirmation in 60-90 seconds). Unprecedented speed in the privacy space.
We will update the roadmap accordingly, as we need to give the auditor a few months to complete their work thoroughly.
Furthermore, we are also continuing our work on Zano Quest, the platform where zAnons can publish content, complete on-chain tasks, onboard new zAnons, and redeem zano:native for their contributions. This will be critical to growing the Zano ecosystem.
New listings and integrations are also in the works to expand Zano's reach.
The ecosystem is also expanding: @ZanoNames is about to launch so you can trade Zano aliases, and @freedomdollar5 is continuously improving services like FreedomSwap, FreedomWallet, and more.
All in all, there's plenty to look forward to, and I'm personally very excited about Zano's bright future. Let's rock and roll!
