Rhapsody (1926) by Arthur Schnitzler was adapted to film as Eyes Wide Shut (1999) by S. Kubrick. The 1920s Vienna setting is moved to 90s NYC. The film adds to the novella as the masked orgy pulls the protagonist in rather than the book's random occurrence.
