The timing was deliberate: Today marks 87 years since the Soviet Union invaded Poland from the east on September 17, 1939, sixteen days after Nazi Germany attacked from the west.
Tusk drew a direct line from that history to what Poland is seeing along its eastern frontier today: Russian drone strikes near the Dorohusk border crossing, sabotage and disinformation, and what he described as an ongoing Russian hybrid war.
