The real problem with Zexal from my perspective is that the duel writers were more interested in flexing their new-ish CGI tech rather than writing actually engaging duels

This is a tribute to the marketing from the original 1998 release!

Even colder take: players shouldn't complain that cards and new archetypes don't "do enough" or else card design will take it as tacit compliance for creating the dumbest card design ever that necessitates big banlists like this

I think it's important to note that players... can simply choose not to level up blessings. The game gives you the freedom to ignore them completely. The biggest reason why players fear not using Blessings is because that's not optimal and players hate playing suboptimally

Okay so if we're going by what Revolution Booster 1 did for Toons, how likely is it that one of these Decks becomes the next Hitler of Yugioh because of Revolution Booster 2?

For the VGC players criticizing Coder's plays, maybe you should try Master Duel and try navigating through a game or two

Whereas in Yugioh, luck is only impactful on how you open your hand and win the coinflip. Otherwise, it's less impactful over the course of the game unless you specifically play cards with a luck factor to them

Honestly, I think this shows more or less the disconnect between competitive VGC and competitive Yugioh. While both games do feature luck, the way how it is expressed in the games is entirely different. In Pokemon, Luck feels more impactful because there's less actions to take
