This is exactly the kind of philanthropy I expect to see mbinga doing.
The Zodwa Mnkandla Foundation has officially opened a 60-seater science laboratory at Sojini High School in Mbembesi, deep in rural Matabeleland North. The foundation has plans to launch more STEM labs.
It is very rare to come across a mbinga
that channels "philantropy" to the appropriate areas of need 👏

"You listen to Star FM when I'm driving home - pedestrian content. Not constructive to the image of Zimbabwe, to say the least, Honourable Minister, very poor. And these little fellows who appear on Star FM, sometimes ZTV, they have no sense of cultural beauty. Nothing. And some of the language is very, very unpalatable to hear. There are certain words you cannot use in the public domain, and you must respect the listeners accordingly." - Speaker Mudenda. @StarfmZimbabwe @ZBCNewsonline

2013 Elections aftermath. Mugabe publicly thanked Chiwenga for helping him "fight" MDC. Democracy as a culture benefits everyone, it sucks to help destroy it and then realize you need it after the infrastructure you put in now wants to consume you.

Vice President Rtd Gen CGDN Chiwenga's touched on the following issues at the ongoing ZANU PF National People's Conference,
1. The Conference resolution must come from the people not just from a few individuals.
2. All resolutions must ensure that we achieve the desires of Vision 2030.
3. Change must be driven by the people not to be imposed from above.
4. We must always serve the People as leaders not to be served by the people.

Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga's speech at the Zanu PF Annual National People's Conference in Chinhoyi amounted to a frontal and fearless critique - and poignantly an attack - on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership, fuelled by the escalating succession battle.
Mnangagwa also retaliated against Chiwenga through his keynote address.
Both of them, clearly fed up with each other, accused one another of engaging in "mazvake mazvake (individualistic and arbitrary actions)."

❗ As African countries navigate mounting debt burdens, climate-related shocks and growing development financing needs, the question is not only how countries borrow, but also how global financial institutions shape their economic choices and development trajectory.
✳️ AFRODAD & partners call for IMF surveillance and lending frameworks that put debt sustainability, fiscal sovereignty and people-centred development at the heart of economic policymaking. Economic advice and lending conditions must be assessed against their implications for public investment, social spending and governments’ ability to deliver essential services.
✳️ Addressing Africa’s debt challenges requires more than fiscal adjustment. It demands fairer global financial governance, affordable and development-oriented financing, stronger domestic resource mobilisation, action against illicit financial flows, and policies that expand fiscal space rather than deepen inequalities or undermine development gains.
✳️ As discussions unfold at the Civil Society Policy Forum during the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, AFRODAD & partners underscore the need for African-led solutions and a global financial system that serves people and development, not debt repayment at the expense of both.

Speaking at the inaugural Borrowers’ Platform Governing Council meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, Janet Zhou (@jayznotes), AFRODAD’s Executive Director, challenged the creditor-dominated global debt system and called for a more democratic, borrower-centred architecture grounded in international law.
“For long, creditors have set the rules, and these rules have failed to prevent the debt crisis and the debt distress that many of our countries face today.”
She underscored the importance of the Borrowers’ Platform in advancing existing efforts to strengthen borrower agency, including the Common African Position on Debt, adopted by the African Union earlier this year, and the recent launch of the African Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA).
AFRODAD has long advocated a shift from a creditor-centred debt architecture towards a democratic, rules-based system anchored in a United Nations Framework Convention on Sovereign Debt.
The Borrowers’ Platform is a critical part of this transformation complementing broader reform efforts and providing borrowing countries with a stronger collective voice in shaping the decisions that affect their economic futures. Borrowers must have a meaningful say in the rules governing their debt. The time for a fairer, more democratic global debt architecture is now.

@Starlink, please, may you activate Roam in Zimbabwe?
Zimbabwe is the largest Starlink market in Africa , and has more Starlink subscribers than the SADC and East Africa combined.
Soon Zimbabwe will have more subscribers than all UK members combined.
These numbers have been achieved with no Ground Stations and complex Roam workarounds. Zimbabwe can potentially make it into the top 5 Starlink markets globally

An area of rich sociological examination.
I would go on a limb and borrow from the Broken Windows Theory. Since people often see public goods in disrepair , they may now erroneously assume there is nothing wrong with brokenness.
The nation needs to invest in timeous repairs , education and legislation. Oh, also put bins everywhere and get toilets functioning. If people see order and functioning regularly, it will be imprinted in their psyche.
Police and Municipal Police should actually fine you for littering or property destruction!
