She claims she initially invested KSh500,000 and received profits, then invested KSh2 million and made more money. The returns allegedly built her trust in him. Things reportedly took a bigger turn when the man told her about an opportunity to acquire five acres of land in Kajiado. He allegedly asked her for KSh30 million, promising they could sell the property for KSh45 million within 60 days. Believing in him and their future, Melinda says she sent him the money and that was when he stopped responding. She later discovered that the land was not for sale and the owner did not know him.
