Not for the first time Aziraphale was reminded of the theory of gravity as their lips connected with a tenderly magnetic draw; it had been over a decade since his mouth had known the touch of another. It was as overwhelming as it was life-giving & Earth shatteringly invigorating.

Fanfic had always been a hobby people did for fun. I think the true "crisis" here is the loss of fandom etiquette, and the widespread entitlement in thinking that everyone has to listen to the unsolicited opinion you disguise as "critique".

too many ppl giving unsolicited criticism to fanfic authors and then there's ppl accusing every fic writers of genAI for *checks notes* punctuations, "too much" description, basic ass sentences, repeating phrases & "just a vibe".. i think yall don't deserve anything actually

I say this as someone who 100% overused italics when I started out btw. You know how I stopped? By writing with them anyway. By practicing and gaining confidence as a writer until I learned when I did & didn’t need them. Not from someone telling me to “step away” from using them.

The way people treat fanfic writers in comparison to fanartists is such a shitty double standard, why are writers just supposed to swallow unwanted criticism and harassment campaigns without complaining. This got so much worse after AI became popular as well
