For the uninitiated on Rojava (Western Kurdistan) - zwan.substack.com/p/rojava-a…
The Libertarian Socialist experiment must be defended by force of arms, ideally and preferably via transnational Kurdish unity.
It is rather grotesque to destroy a country and then 70 years later create a digital world where Americans and Britons can gleefully and vicariously live out their grandfathers’ crimes.
This is a basic misunderstanding of socialism. The opposition is not to 'work' itself but to the current conditions under which work is undertaken and the relations between those who *have to* work and those who have no such compulsion.
It's quite strange that a supposed journalist, let alone one on 'the left', would be so friendly and conciliatory to an adviser of the former President who was helping carry out a genocide. If it wasn't Mehdi Hasan, I might be surprised.
"You're not the 'Establishment'? If you're not 'Establishment,' who is?"
A relatively light-hearted exchange/preview from my @AJHeadtoHead interview with CAP head & ex-Biden/Hillary adviser @neeratanden at Georgetown last week, & airs tonight at 10pm ET.

One of many reasons why you shouldn’t trust Harris’ supporters who retroactively try to lie about what and her the Democratic Party did and would have *continued* doing, had they won the election.
Restore’s chief spokesman speaks like a blackshirt and wonders why they’re called fascists.
When we win, we are going to utterly crush these people.
“The Left” as it currently exists simply will not exist anymore. There will be no Stand Up To Racism, there will be no Hope Not Hate, there will be no Antifa.
I am not interested in their “right to protest” or whatever else. They hate us, they are enemies of European civilisation, they will be destroyed.
We’re not doing this anymore.
The most respectable and credible hip hop artist. Embodies the true anti establishment nature of hip hop. Previous praise for J Cole, Kendrick and co were ultimately superficial and paid no attention beyond personal woe and domestic American issues.
With pseudo journalists like Murray, and mute, stupid interlocutors like Senor, it is hardly a surprise that the base level of knowledge about world politics is non existent.

@DouglasKMurray lies about Amy Goodman not knowing about East Timor and claims she had to 'Google it', when in fact, she was in East Timor in 1991 and made a documentary about the country.

Today is the 53rd anniversary of the military coup in Chile, which overthrew the democratically elected Allende government.
I joined friends and comrades outside the Chilean embassy to commemorate those who were killed and disappeared. Nobody will ever be forgotten.
Correct and ‘progressives’ shouldn’t fall for this move but press Miliband and Burnham to mean what they say and materially cut their ties.
I've annotated Miliband's speech line by line on my Substack, exposing his evasions as well as noting the advances he has made.
Bottom line - he proposes to address Israel’s unlawful occupation by tackling the economic relationships with the occupied territories, not with the state that is doing the occupying.
Miliband is triangulating the deep offence Israel offers to progressive opinion with Labour's determination to retain the UK's strategic relationships with Israel and the USA, as Miliband's colleague Pat McFadden emphasised this morning. The military partnership is untouched, as Burnham probably reassured Trump.
Meanwhile, Israel is directly sanctioning the UK in retaliation, although there are no new sanctions on Israel as such. This noise will help Miliband and Burnham exaggerate the progress they have made. But it is nowhere near enough.

‘this purity mania is not moral seriousness. It is the opposite. It is what a nation does after its attention span has been ground down to eight seconds by machines built to sell your outrage back to you’ this is the essence of things.
Daughter of a gusano got her feelings hurt because people aren’t crying crocodile tears over the passing of a cia agent…I’m shocked!

"there should be no doubt in anyone's mind how seriously Hitler has damaged, first and foremost, Germany... ...and second, the perception that people in the United States and around the world have of Nazi Germany. And that has to be repaired."
Hillary Clinton: "there should be no doubt in anyone's mind how seriously netanyahu has damaged, first and foremost, Israel... and second, the perception that people, not just in the United States, but around the world, have of Israel. And that has to be repaired."
To rephrase, the victims of Israel's genocide of the Palestinians are FIRST AND FOREMOST the Israelis who have suffered the reputational damage.
Embarrassing levels of ignorance from the host but then again this channel exists for that very purpose; to miseducate and confuse its viewers into the most reactionary and stupid beliefs possible.
Peter Hitchens versus the Left youtu.be/6nahoZo6-XQ?is=K-wx… via @YouTube
It’s quite easy to forget how reactionary Hitchens is when comparing him to the pathetic and squalid right wing of today. But, here he is, over the years, lamenting the loss of the British Empire.
Not only that but the US government went so far as compensating American private companies whose factories it bombed *in Germany* who were producing trucks for the Nazi war machine.
They don’t teach you about the Nuremberg trials that exposed how pillars of German capitalism funded Hitler’s rise and profited under the Nazi regime, while major American companies also maintained extensive business ties with Nazi Germany.
Some history is rarely taught when it reveals that fascism didn’t come for big capital. It found powerful allies there.
