Reviews and articles about war/strategy games on PC and tabletop, military history books, miniatures, and more! awargamersneedfulthings.co.u…
Decided to break out Zombicide, one of the first games that got me hooked on modern boardgames (and also the one time I went a bit Kickstarter crazy). Survivors had completed the objectives and were one step away from the exit when things got bogged down and the herd caught up!
Been radio silent for a while as I went off to USAF OTS (where I discovered I was among many fellow table top/PC gaming nerds) but now I’m at my new house and finally finished with the new gaming setup. It’s a bit unorthodox perhaps, but I think it’ll work!
Lots of great stuff in the pipeline!

Got the wife to try out Shores of Tripoli from @fortcircle and of course she won. My blockade took out three corsairs in one go, but that one survivor got the last coin needed for her to win! Fun game where the mechanics are simple but the tension ratchets up with every turn.
That feeling when you didn’t get any wargames for Christmas (by choice, need to play what I already have!), but then a review copy for a brand new game appears on your doorstep the next day! Thank you @fortcircle, looking forward to trying this one out!
I think this is a great initiative! There’s always more to learn about history and the more voices we have the better!
The @ZenobiaAward is launching today! We are looking to expand the diversity of designers in historical games. You just need to submit a concept, and it does not need to be a 'war game', just historical. Winners get a mentor and cash prize!

High Frontier. Been waiting years to get my hands on this one! If you played SpaceCorp and thought “This game is fun, but what if it was also borderline incomprehensible?” this might just be for you.
Just found out that I (Joe at AWNT) was selected to be an officer in the USAF! I’ll be manning the pharmacy, not an F-35, but still very exciting!
Tis the season for spooky strategy games! Stirring Abyss from @SlitherineGames is out today. See what sort of Lovecraftian horrors await your crew in the depths of the sea. awargamersneedfulthings.co.u…
