@Zoom - hey! How do you make the text of the actual desktop app larger? I see settings for enlarged captions and chat but I can't see the text within the app - home, mail, team, more button etc. Thx! #accessibility #zoommeetings

It's the last day of #DisabilityPrideMonth - but no matter what the calendar says, keep celebrating and stay feisty, friends. 🫶 #BlindNewWorld Image: A quote from #DisabilityRights activist @JudithHeumann: "I wanna see feisty #disabled people change the world."

“...a dominant narrative can suffocate innovation,” says @PokeyRule as he explains why he created Cursorless -- a spoken computer language. Read to see why Cursorless just might be able to eliminate employment discrimination. #accessibility being-frank.com/blog/being-p…

@PennDelco @NorthleyMS- blocking=PDSD is covering this up & doesn't respect free speech. I faced discrimination at NMS due to my vision impairment; haunts me today. Mr. Donaghy was a champion & helped so much. Would George have helped a student who didn't have special needs?

Dr. George Steinhoff @pdsdsuper of the Penn-Delco school district gets paid $250,000 of taxpayer money to ignore child abuse, enable bullying, and laugh at a father while he’s making a desperate plea for help. He needs to address these very serious allegations.

People with disabilities have extra compassion so we prioritize uplifting everyone around us. This makes the path to living a life most true to our own desires indirect. Learn how Bryan made his dream a reality. #blindness #blindtwitter #DisabilityTwitter bit.ly/3Gosy19

Listen to or read "Being Mark: The panic when low vision gets even smaller." Mark's a happy guy despite workplace exclusion & backward laws keeping people with disabilities from thriving. being-frank.com/blog/being-m… #BlindChannel #inclusion #blindtwitter

The cane also says “I’m missing something important.” When a person who’s blind uses a cane, they make a deal with society: they acquire mobility at the price of being vulnerable. Mark shares his experience with shrinking vision. #blindness #accessibility being-frank.com/blog/being-m…

#BlindTwitter meet Mark! After moving to Atlanta in his early 20’s, he realized one morning he could no longer distinguish the 5 fingers on his hand. Far from family, NYC’s subway, the small amount of vision Mark had suddenly faded to darkness. being-frank.com/blog/being-m…

I have many "close calls" with cyclists who use the sidewalk and skirt other rules in NYC. I cannot perceive depth so it is impossible for me to gauge how close an oncoming cyclist is. I also can't gauge their speed. Very scawwwy!
A cyclist is seen passing a school bus with red flashing lights and crashing into a kid and fleeing the scene at Bedford Ave & Wallabout St.

🗓️ Sat - I'm participating in "Adulting w/ Vision Loss" from Compass, a program for college-aspiring students with vision loss, offered by @PerkinsVision. Love to meet ambitious students to talk self-acceptance, tricky college experiences, & more. bit.ly/3Z2Bcdo

And another one! Hey, @Google & @gmail - your tools are super hard to use for visually impaired people. Collapsible menus and navigational panes could be a starting place. This screenshot is of my entire monitor - the email folder pane completely takes over.

Who else finds @Google's websites and tools totally inaccessible lately? I am *hurting* to know 1) why I can't close the help assistant and 2) why the help assistant takes over when I zoom in. Happens in other Google tools as well. #accessibility

Years of bliss for techies in the most in-demand roles may fade as layoffs reshape the industry. Thomas Jones, @askrevenuepoint founder, WALKED OUT of a job at Apple - and it worked! #startup #techlayoffs being-frank.com/blog/client-…

Discover "advertising" in the community of people who stutter. See how Christopher Schuyler’s choice to advertise led him to rep the suit against NYC's MTA to close the gap as Sr. Staff Attorney for @NYLPI #inclusion #Disability #DisabilityInclusion being-frank.com/blog/being-c…
