Did really like Cunha today. Not everything came off but worked really hard, didn’t moan, body language was so much better. That’s the reaction he needed to show. No consolation but in this environment it would’ve been so easy to jog around moaning

United fans seeing through it this time. Manager let down by the board, players nowhere near good enough. Carrick will go but the real problems won’t get touched.
#mufc fans sang Michael Carrick's name until he went down the tunnel. As soon as he exited the field, a series of fierce boos erupted around Old Trafford, aimed at the players.

Stupid tackle from Heaven, just no need at all. Tielemans playing the worst game of his career. It’s all done, so over

He’s human like everyone else - understandably fuming his career has been wasted with yet more false promises from United. Give him some time off to sort his head out, come back and give us 10 great games and head off in January to a serious club. No sour ending I hope…
🚨 | Michael Carrick has DROPPED Bruno Fernandes vs Bournemouth. [@lauriewhitwell] Correct? 👇

Trains cancelled halfway, no idea if I’m getting to OT… Found a pint for £4.50 in the station, lovely little pub. Probably a better use of an afternoon

Player: “we’re 💩because….” Manager: “NO, we’re 💩because…” What a mess. At least they both agree on something.
🚨🎙️ | Michael Carrick reacts to Bruno Fernandes' comments where he seemingly questioned the tactics: "We actually half pressed man-to-man in the second half and conceded from that. "If you don't RUN, don't run forward and you don't run back you are NOT going to win."

💭”When you recover the ball, the legs and the brain are much more difficult to make it work” - Bruno getting to the heart of the real problem for Man Utd. Change the manager, change the tactics, none of it matters if the players aren’t physically fit enough to compete.
🚨💬 Bruno Fernandes’ quotes in FULL to @footballontnt… INTERVIEWER: “Do you, as a group, have confidence that you can work as a team and solve the problems that you need to out there?” BRUNO: “Of course you can, but it’s the decision from the staff to not press man-to-man, and sometimes leave a little bit of space in behind and trying to get the ball in the first moment - to wait for them, to give them the ball. “But sometimes when you give too much the ball to these teams, they get confident, you know. They have so many bodies behind the ball that make you run a lot, make people get frustrated. “And then, obviously, when you recover the ball, the legs and the brain are much more difficult to make it work.” INTERVIEWER: “On that, then, do you feel like tactically, it was wrong tonight? You made the decision not to press, and that’s what hurt you in the end?” BRUNO: “That’s on the manager and on the staff to see it, it’s not on me. “I just said that, sometimes, we have to be more brave under pressure, trying to take a risk of getting that press very high and making them uncomfortable - as they did to us. As you saw, the centre back is coming all the way to mark me in my own half, and I think sometimes, we had to do that as a team, and we were not really able to do it. “And a team that wants to play through the middle and likes these small connections, if you give them too much time on the ball to think and rotate on the middle of the pitch, then they create a big space on the outside, that’s what they did, and the first goal comes from that.” #MUFC

and the decision of the owners to go into a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GAME with 70 year old Harry Maguire, De Ligt who’s not played in a year, and Mazraoui who’s average at the best of times in defence. Incompetence from the top down
🚨🎙️ | Bruno Fernandes: "It was the DECISION OF THE STAFF to not go man-for-man."

Looks like a change back to the 3-4-3 from the weekend… so desperate for Carrick that he’s now copying Amorim
Amad and Baleba on for Cunha and Santos

Watch how Como players treat the ⚽️. The care on every touch, smoothness of receiving detail on every pass. Now watch Man Utd. Loose touches, bobbling passes, clunky on the turn❌ Not oriented to play the next pass before receiving. Basic details and the gulf is HUGE.

Gone full Arteta and building round the kids - full credit if he sticks to it. Only way out of this mess given the lack of investment. Just gotta hope they repay the faith through effort. Yoro, Santos and Baleba all pretty good today
🚨🎙️ | Michael Carrick: "You look at the midfield with Carlos [Baleba] and Andrey [Santos], that's a pretty fresh spine of the team through that middle of the pitch. "Both young players adapting to life at this football club, and I thought both of them were terrific today. "I thought they both did really well in midweek. So that's a massive positive for us..."

Carrick still backed by the United away fans at Leeds - decent first half, again just not fit enough to maintain it. Amateurish. Equally inexcusable that there’s no LB cover, and that Licha has no cover so a back up FB ends up in the middle… Complete mess ❌

🚨 Lisandro Martínez: “I expect more from our technical director”. 💣 “If you don’t change, next season it’s a big problem”. “You keep changing managers but what about other areas?”. “It’s easy to say coach, players, but also we have to see others?”, says via @NathSalt1.

This is a generational meltdown. Yes it’ll be a laughing stock in the Amazon doc but worth it if it inspires change. Been a disaster few years and everyone rightly feels let down: coaches, players, fans. No-one’s blameless but it starts much higher

Players talk: they aren’t stupid. If one is saying it, they’re all thinking it. THEY KNOW the squad aren’t fit, THEY KNOW the squad isn’t good enough to compete. Finally - Wilcox, Ineos, Ratcliffe have got a LOT to answer for. Burn it down
🚨🎙️ | Lisandro Martinez asked if Michael Carrick was backed in the summer: “I DON'T think so. He did his best. If you don’t change, next season it’s a BIG problem. “You keep changing managers, but what about OTHER areas? “It’s easy to say the coach, the players, but also we have to see others, huh?” WOW... 🤯

Bruno’s performances make more sense, as do the rest of them. Not an excuse, granted but can understand why they feel let down - especially when they’ve likely been promised better. They KNOW Santos isn’t up to it, Tielemans can’t run, Shaw can’t stay fit, Sesko isn’t enough

FINALLY WE MIGHT BE OKAY (Licha I forgive the repeated stinkers)
🚨 Lisandro Martinez: “Really poor. I have to control myself a lot. It’s a reflection in the mirror of how our club is at the moment. “ We expect MORE from the top after our fantastic last season. We needed more players to compete because many teams have bought many players as well.” [@primevideosport]

This says everything. 1-0 down, getting hammered away in Europe. Then get a VAR break as a reprieve. Help your players? Fix tactical issues? Nope, stay as far away as possible. Carrick so clearly out of his depth; players too unfit to compete. Incompetence from the top down🤬

That’ll get bad press going 1-0 down so early but honestly fine margins there between stealing the ball and having an attack vs it going to an Atleti player… Not a good start but genuinely unlucky

Preseason at Brighton, not conditioned by the apparently incompetent staff at United
Replying to @_Coach_Cam
Baleba looked fitter than everyone else despite being out injured. How is that possible?
