FIL/USD Is Now Live on Filecoin Mainnet
@redstone_defi Brings FIL/USD Price Feeds to Filecoin Mainnet, Giving FVM Developers Access to Onchain Pricing
RedStone is now live on Filecoin mainnet with a FIL/USD price feed, allowing developers to access onchain FIL prices directly from their smart contracts.
The feed updates whenever FIL moves by 0.5%, with at least one update every four hours.
What does this mean for builders on Filecoin?
♦️ Lending protocols can use FIL/USD pricing to calculate collateral values and manage liquidations.
♦️ Payment applications can convert between FIL and USD for onchain settlements.
♦️ DeFi developers can integrate price data through latestRoundData(), using a familiar interface for EVM-compatible applications.
The feed is also available on the Calibration testnet, giving teams a way to test their contracts before deploying to mainnet.
With the integration complete, Filecoin joins the 110+ chains supported by RedStone. Additional price feeds can also be deployed on request.
As Filecoin's onchain ecosystem grows, reliable price data becomes increasingly important for applications handling lending, storage payments and other transactions involving FIL.
