Huw Merriman, the Tory rail minister, admitted today that the govt has spent more money fighting railway workers than it would have cost to settle the dispute.

The other day someone asked me how I got into open source and I had to try to remember.
My answer “after making some wildly unpopular small repos, I asked this project named jQuery if they would support SVG and got in a big fight with people and have been hooked ever since”

now they're in a room in a casino full of people playing air hockey. everyone pictured appears to be male, except for a waitress who is being painfully hit on by a man in a pepe the frog shirt. this may be the most realistic part of the video.

an up-and-coming crypto scam—er, project—has managed to dunk on cryptobros better than any satirist i've seen so far, with one of the most painful-to-watch youtube videos i've seen in a while. join me in hell as we watch this together: youtube.com/watch?v=RiHopGox…

But nah, it’s probably a conspiracy of trans people to oppress a billionaire.

Thing is I don't WANT to get vaccinated. Nobody WANTS a vaccination. But when it comes to the alternative, we don't have a choice. It's for the greater good, to help others out in a fucking emergency. If everyone had the luxury of having a 'personal choice' we'd all be dead

I don’t know why, but this reply has really stuck with me. “web3 is promising because I once wasn’t allowed to squat on 1,200 twitter usernames that I planned to flip for profit”. It’s just… so revealing

A large portion of venture capital is all about land grabs: using up-front capital to acquire a new, scarce resource that's expected to rise in value. So it makes sense that many VCs love "web3" - it turns abundant resources into scarce ones, which fits their core business model.

It’s only Quarantine if it’s in the Quarantine province of France. Otherwise it's just sparkling self isolation.

And finally, we *must* vaccinate the world. @UNHumanright reported over 100 companies able to produce vax that are not allowed to.
It's not a zero sum game. UK must support vax waivers and tech transfer to enable much higher vax production globally. 18/18
