International Bern Welcome Desk

Around 20 volunteers from the British Embassy and several partner embassies swapped their desks for litter pickers and spent the morning helping to tidy up the Dählhölzliwald as part of the Greening Embassies Network Clean-Up Day! Working in small teams, colleagues collected bags of litter while enjoying some fresh air, good conversation and the chance to meet fellow volunteers from across Bern’s diplomatic community. With participants from embassies including Sweden, Dominican Republic, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Ireland and Canada, the event was as much about community as it was about keeping our local green spaces clean. Supported by the City of Bern, which provided equipment for the day, volunteers helped make a visible difference while proving that many hands really do make light work.
