X is such an odd place sometimes. I'll have accounts that I've been mutuals with for ages, ones that I interacted with regularly and got along with well, just up and boot me off their page for no apparent reason. Just on a whim.
X and middle school are the only places I've encountered this to such a degree.

Stop looking at prologues like an author and start looking at them like a marketer.
When people click the read sample on button on zon it'll be the first thing they see.
Treat it like a teaser trailer and kick 'em in the plums with a fire prologue.
It's the reader's introduction to that world. Treat it like a check your book is promising to cash.
Make it count.
