💛 It’s time to fight racism with kindness.
Last year, over 15,000 pupils in England were suspended for racist behaviour — more than double the number in 2021.
Some were just four years old.
This isn’t just a statistic — it’s a warning.
Too many children are growing up where division and prejudice take root before empathy has a chance to grow.
That’s why we were thrilled that over 300,000 children joined our Great Big Live Assembly for Black History Month — to hear stories of hope, courage, and belonging from inspiring voices.
We wanted every child who faces racism to know: you are seen, valued, and loved.
At Sanctuary Foundation, we’re building a movement of kindness, compassion, and hospitality — in schools, communities, and across the nation.
Because every child deserves to belong. 💛

Really enjoyed speaking with fellow youth leaders about listening well to young people at Ely’s children and youth work conference yesterday. So many good questions and reflections in the room and I enjoyed just being there with brilliant people for the day 😊
Today we did some Kintsugi prayers for our world as we explored the idea of intercession prayer in youth group. It was also great for the young people to share about church on the run and how much money they’ve raised (over £1,000!)
Stranded on the motorway on the back from @satellitesevent but Jesus is us. We’re singing songs from the week and we’ve joined the @RachelGardnerRA breakdown minibus club. 🚌🩹

Jess Carter to ITV: "I was super scared to play today, which is the first time in my life. Then when I woke up this morning and saw my team and the support that I had from my team-mates, my family and my manager, I knew I had to come out today and give it my all."

Proper English is actually your keeper saving pens with a tampon stopping a nosebleed, a super sub with her husband and dogs on her shin pads and the decisive penalty being scored by a player wearing the captains band as a bracelet having DIY’d her own injury strapping
Had such a fun couple of days with a YP exploring new projects:
- Listening exercise designed for families on how we can support them better in groups & services
-Young person led fund raising event
- Creating an exploring faith booklet written by young people for young people

Our response to this weekend's media coverage.

ALT Mental health conditions are over diagnosed. This is the narrative pushed by the media over the weekend. It's unhelpful - and a distraction from the real issues we should be talking about. The number of young people waiting over a year for NHS support rose by 55% last year. The media and the government's focus should be on getting those waiting lists down - and making sure young people get the support they need, when they need it. Most young people don’t want a label. They want help. It’s time we fix our broken mental health system and give it the investment it urgently needs.
