I think I should also post on LinkedIn for getting my foreign qualification certified by ZAQA. They even sent a text and email with the certificate a few days BEFORE the estimated end date (26 August to 25 October) 🙂. If you can, do this process before you need to.
What a fantastic storyteller ☹️☹️☹️

#NobelPrize week makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside! Such brilliant minds and work. I love watching the reactions and stories behind the people doing this phenomenal stuff. The human mind and curiosity are such a gift ✨️

Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
Replying to @hilbertspaess
The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

Um so what i found out today is about a psychological phenomenon called Solomon’s paradox, which basically explains why we tend to be much “wiser” and more reasonable when we’re solving other people’s problems than when we’re dealing with our own.
Basically, it relates to that stuff we say that you can’t fully understand or judge something happening to someone else when it hasn’t happened to you.
Anyways, this will be a thread so if your attention span is cooked, i’m really sorry😂
👀
We congratulate Levent Alpöge and Tristan Buckmaster on their remarkable mathematical work.
We (the researchers and the agents) did not see any of their work through any means until they released it publicly — in particular, no specific user data was accessed in order to solve this problem.
While unlikely, we cannot rule out that de-identified data derived from their usage of our products helped improve our models.
However, our proofs differ significantly and even the precise results proved are different in the Euler case (forced vs. unforced).

I...worked on this proof for a year...and...they just…tweeted it out.
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics.
The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra.
The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

A PhD is basically being asked to contribute something new to human knowledge. No pressure. Take your time. Funding ends in May.
