TINUBU MUST EXPLAIN LUXURY SUV GIFTS TO APC YOUTHS WHILE NIGERIANS GO HUNGRY — ATIKU.
Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has accused President Bola Tinubu of presiding over a grotesque spectacle of executive excess: the reported distribution of 2026 model luxury SUVs, each worth more than ₦150 million, to APC youth leaders while millions of Nigerians are crushed by hunger and soaring costs.
Atiku said it was a brazen insult to ask Nigerians to endure hardship while party loyalists receive vehicles worth a fortune. He demanded an immediate public explanation from President Tinubu and the Presidency: who is paying for these SUVs, and why is such lavish political spending taking place while ordinary families struggle to afford food and transport?
In a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Atiku said:
"The APC National Youth Leader says these vehicles were donated by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. Nigerians deserve to know where the money came from to buy and distribute so many 2026 model SUVs, each worth more than ₦150 million, for political mobilisation.
"The First Lady holds no elected or executive office. She is only a domestic appendage of the office of President. Were these vehicles bought with her personal funds, donations or public resources? Who paid for them? What was the total cost? The Presidency must provide a clear account. Nigerians cannot be expected to accept a fleet of extraordinarily expensive vehicles for party loyalists without knowing who financed them.
"At a time families cannot afford food, transport and other basic necessities, these gifts are a brazen insult to the people. The government has found a way to provide luxury SUVs for APC youth leaders, yet millions of Nigerians are still waiting for meaningful relief from the cost of living crisis. This is not merely a question of misplaced priorities. It is one of the most outlandish displays of executive recklessness in our history.
"First, APC women leaders reportedly received luxury vehicles. Now, according to the National Youth Leader, APC youth leaders are receiving SUVs from the First Lady. The earlier gifts came on the eve of the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State. Now another lavish round of political giving is taking place while Nigerians face hunger, insecurity and hardship.
"While Nigerians continue to ask where the savings from subsidy removal have gone, the Presidency must explain how such costly gifts are being funded. If the vehicles were paid for privately, the source of the funds should be disclosed. If public resources were used, the government must identify who authorised the spending and under what legal authority.
"The scale of these gifts raises grave questions about whether our collective patrimony is being diverted to buy political loyalty. Nigeria cannot be run as a captured state, where wealth and influence serve the powerful while ordinary citizens are left to struggle.
"The same youth leader who made the gifts public is reportedly travelling by private jet. That image of extraordinary privilege stands in jarring contrast to the hardship facing ordinary Nigerians. The Presidency must stop treating questions about wealth and spending as an inconvenience. Nigerians have a right to ask where the money came from.
"Nor is this culture of privilege confined to party officials; it reaches the very household of the President. His own son, Mr Seyi Tinubu, has been pictured, in widely circulated images, wearing a Richard Mille RM 67-02 Sébastien Ogier, a timepiece that sells for close to half a million dollars ($500k), while the same government asks ordinary Nigerians to endure hardship, tighten their belts and wait patiently for relief that never seems to arrive.

If a youth leader can be sharing over 8 brand New 2026 Prado jeeps worth hundreds of millions; just imagine what the senior looters are doing with our common wealth.
Concerned Nigerian Pens Open Letter to Peter Obi, Urges Him to Reconsider NDC Candidacy and Back Atiku for a Unified Opposition Against Tinubu in 2027
Dear Sir, H. E. @PeterObi
I write this letter with a heavy heart, a deep sense of disappointment, and an unshaken concern for the future of our beloved country, Nigeria.
I am writing not because I have lost faith in the possibility of a better Nigeria, but because I still believe that those who have given millions of Nigerians hope must be willing to make difficult decisions in the interest of the people they seek to serve.
Your decision to leave the coalition has left many Nigerians, myself included, hurt and deeply concerned. At a time when the country is burdened by economic hardship, rising costs of living, hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and a growing sense of hopelessness, I struggle to understand why the forces that promise a different Nigeria cannot find common ground.
Sir, the suffering in this country is more than one person’s ambition.
Across the country, families are struggling to put food on their tables. Parents are worried about how to pay school fees. Young people are losing hope in a country where their dreams seem increasingly distant. Workers earn salaries that can barely sustain them, while many citizens who work hard every day are finding it difficult to meet even their most basic needs.
For these Nigerians, the coming election is not merely a contest between political personalities. It is a question of survival, dignity, and the possibility of a future in which their efforts can finally yield something meaningful.
This is why your decision matters.
If those we consider the worst of the ruling class, those seemingly bereft of fresh ideas for nation-building, and those whose actions often suggest that personal and political interests matter more than the national interest, can find ways to accommodate one another when their interests align, why can’t those of us who still believe in decency, integrity, accountability, and respect for the Nigerian people make the sacrifices necessary to work together?
Why should the people who desperately need change be made to bear the consequences of disagreements among those who claim to represent that change?
I understand that coalitions are not always easy. They require compromises, difficult conversations, mutual trust, and sometimes the willingness to put aside personal preferences. There may be genuine disagreements about leadership, strategy, principles, and the direction of the movement. No reasonable person expects you to abandon your convictions or surrender your integrity.
But leadership sometimes demands that we distinguish between what we personally desire and what the moment requires of us.
There are times when the greater good demands that we look beyond ourselves. There are moments in the life of a nation when the question should not be, “Who will lead?” but rather, “How do we collectively rescue our country from the condition in which it finds itself?”
Surely, the Nigerian people deserve that level of sacrifice from those who ask for their trust.
My greatest fear is that a divided opposition could make the task of the ruling party easier in the coming election. Every division among those seeking change risks weakening the collective effort of millions of Nigerians who desire a different direction for their country. And if such divisions ultimately work to the advantage of President Bola Tinubu and the ruling party, the ordinary Nigerian will once again be left to bear the consequences.

Is it just me or was the crowd chanting “Tinubu Must Go” in the background as Tinubu was giving his speech.
Popular Obidient Emir Sirdam has accused Akin Olaoye, a former Obidient of sabotaging the movement. He also alleged that Akin may have been responsible for the security breach which affected the votes of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (another former Obidient) in the last Lagos State Gubernatorial election.

“You have people at home in Nigeria today who are begging you for money. Tell them no!” — Peter Obi
While he frames this as stopping people from cushioning the effects of hardship, family remittances are private decisions made for food, medicine, school fees, and basic life needs. They should not be treated as political leverage.
Advising people to withhold support from relatives until they vote a certain way turns basic family responsibility into campaign strategy. That is a choice with real consequences, whatever one’s view of the current government. It is in the same category as using the unfortunate demise of fellow citizens to score political points.
DID YOU KNOW
In 2014 while speaking at his investiture as the Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso and award of honourary doctor of science in Management Science. Bola Tinubu said
"We are prepared not to go to court but to drive you out. We will not take it anymore.
If you mess up in Ekiti and Osun states, you will see our reactions. For every action, there must be a reaction."
No government that wants people's votes will be doing what they are doing. They are planning to rig the elections but be ready to protect your votes. It is going to be RIG and ROAST."
I am in the middle of an accidental town hall meeting in Manchester in the UK. I came to a Lunch to which Peter Obi was invited. I found food I looked forward to deferred for questions on the trouble with Nigeria. Many of the questions suggest worry about the boldness of public officials in projecting rigging with results of elections of 2027 considered in the pocket. They were energized to ask for how they could own fighting rigging. The determination to do whatever will prevent election malpractice suggest we may see a civil war if power tries to muscle the will of the people this time.
JUST IN: We may see a civil war if the ruling party tries to muscle the will of the people in the 2027 election.

The only thing you should be thanking God for is the fact that Tinubu is ruling over the largest congregation of the most docile and self-centred people on earth.
Anytime I see things like this, I will always thank Hod for President @officialABAT decisive reforms.. Yes it’s painful but it made us avoid situations like this…
