With no direct benefit to Scots energy bills and as a net exporter of renewables to England, should Scotland be expected to bare the brunt of the worlds largest windturbines erected close to one of our most important cultural, historic and religious sites? This short film highlights the threat to Iona.
Does Scotland have enough windfarms? We are already a net exporter, but still Scots pay the most expensive energy costs in the UK. Now a Spanish firm are threatening to erect 144 wind turbines, each over 1115 feet high (taller than the Eiffel Tower), off the coast of Iona, one of Scotland's most important cultural, historical and religious sites. This short film explains why we need to say No to the Machair Windfarm. youtu.be/hXGpsffa3Zk?is=ZIQI…

UK energy bills could rise even more. Regulator is considering a Market Stabilization Charge. This would force energy companies to compensate consumers’ old suppliers for lost profits when people switch away. What would the govt do? Watch the Minister's reply.

Very sinister changes are happening in the UK, bit by bit, shifting power away from individual people to the state. This creeping totalitarianism has been advancing for years, but it's accelerating rapidly now.

94% of British people would refuse to join the armed services as a volunteer, even if invasion was imminent. They would literally have to be dragged kicking and screaming to fight for a country that quite clearly does not care about them..

This is only going to get worse. People are sick to death of endless wars.. Relentless destruction, soaring costs of living and a future being stolen from them. They are tired of paying the price for wars they never asked for, while those responsible remain untouched by the suffering they unleash.

GERMANY Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest' retreat set on fire German police said they had detained a suspect after a fire at Adolf Hitler’s former mountain retreat, known as the Eagle’s Nest, in the state of Bavaria. About 200 firefighters were deployed to tackle the blaze at the Nazi dictator’s remote and difficult-to-access Kehlsteinhaus residence, on the peak of Obersalzberg in southern Germany. Firefighters saw flames rising high into the air as they approached the scene, only to find the building “completely ablaze”, police said. “A suspicious person was taken into temporary custody,” they said in a later statement, adding that nobody was injured in the blaze. Police spokesperson Lisa Maier said firefighters struggled to tackle the fire due to its location at an altitude of 1,834 metres (6,000 feet). The building was only accessible with “heavy breathing apparatus”, she said. Authorities were alerted to the fire on Friday evening, when a smoke detector triggered a fire alarm at about 9.50pm (1950 GMT), police said. No potential reason for the fire was given, but the German media reported that the investigators suspected it was the result of arson. As snow fell on the Alpine peak, the Eagle’s Nest was still engulfed in flames in the early hours of today, Saturday, a weather camera showed. German tabloid Bild reported that the authorities had arrested a motorcyclist they came across on their way to the scene. Built between 1937 and 1938, the Eagle’s Nest forms part of the toxic legacy of Hitler’s Third Reich, which was responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews as well as Roma, LGBTQ people and Communists in the Holocaust. It was designed to serve as a monument to Hitler’s rule, although the dictator rarely visited the complex.

The UK government has spent years heaping costs, regulation and tax uncertainty onto British food producers, Farmers, and Small businesses - then turns around and tells the public to stockpile three days of tinned food and bottled water because "unexpected events seem to be becoming more common." Official figures show a net loss of more than 3,000 agriculture, forestry and fishing businesses in 2025 alone, the highest on record, with thousands more closures in the years before that. Inheritance tax changes on family farms (even after partial U-turns), soaring energy and inspection costs, labour shortages, post-Brexit trade deals that opened the door to cheaper imports, and chaotic subsidy schemes that left most applicants empty-handed have all piled on the pressure. Local abattoirs have collapsed from roughly 2,500 in the 1970s to around 200 today; surveys of farmers show large numbers warning they may have to stop producing meat locally or exit entirely if the next one closes. This week the government launched its "Be Ready" campaign, advising households to keep non-perishable food, litres of bottled water per person, cash, torches and radios in case of cyber attacks, extreme weather or other disruptions. That is sensible basic preparedness. What is absurd is watching the same state systematically weaken the domestic producers who actually grow and process the food that would make the country more resilient in the first place, while imports fill the gap and rural businesses fold. You cannot talk seriously about national resilience and food security while watching the infrastructure that produces British food shrink year after year. The contradiction is obvious.
