I remember the exact moment I first heard ‘The Tragically Hip’ I was sitting in my apartment in NYC, ‘Phantom Power’ had just come out and somehow MuchMusic was on my TV. The video of ‘Bobcaygeon’ came on, I heard the snare tone of Johnny Fay and instantly new they meant business, then the guitars, then Gord’s voice AND those lyrics ‘I left your house this mornin’, bout a quarter after nine, could have been the Willie Nelson, could have been the wine…’ damn, instantly hooked, I called a friend in Toronto and asked him about the band. A week later he had sent me their entire catalog and I’ve loved them ever since. I even have a guitar I bought in Kingston, Ontario (‘53 Hofner) very similar to one I saw Downie playing once. They’re more than just a band and their final chapter was both elegiac and intensely beautiful, an affirmation of life even in the face of tremendous loss. An inspiration for the ages. Sure, they never really hit it big in the States (beyond Buffalo) but they didn’t need to, what they achieved was something far greater and another of the many gifts Canada has given the world. If you don’t know the band you’re in for a treat and check out ‘No Dress Rehearsal’ now, you won’t regret it. Love the Hip. @thehipofficial

.‼️🙏🙏🙏‼️ Please approve @Novavax in Canada @GovCanHealth @PHAC_GC @JustinTrudeau @markhollandlib #canpoli
#Novavax's approval comes with great news on efficacy, "has the strongest response against 53.2% of current active variants." "KP.3.1.1 is the dominant variant at 35.1% and JN.1 is next at 18.1%…they make up 53.2% of all lineages...that's more than half." @DonEford #JN1 #KP311

Time for @GovCanHealth to do the same. A potentially better and longer lasting shot, with reduced side effects than the mRNA vaccines.
BREAKING—the FDA has just authorized the new Novavax vaccine, tailored to JN1 related variants. Anyone age 12 and over are eligible. You may receive it 2 months after a prior version of COVID-19 shot (and prior infection, though FDA memo didn’t specify). fda.gov/news-events/press-an…

Dear .@JustinTrudeau .@markhollandlib Can you claim travel expenses to the U.S. to get Novavax vaccine as a health cost deduction on your Canadian income taxes? 🇨🇦
Here are some of the pharmacy chains that Novavax JN.1 will be offered at this year. It should be much easier to find this time around.

Novavax shouldn’t be this hard to access. @GovCanHealth has no right to claim “low uptake” when provinces squandered doses with poor distribution & lack of educating both health professionals & the masses. It’s a colossal failure all around. And @GovCanHealth KNOWS this, yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey, @GovCanHealth, the reason why Novavax uptake was low last year was largely because: -you approved it so late that many went to USA or gave up & got mRNA instead -you didn’t promote it -ppl don’t know that it works, yet fewer side effects. Fix the above, there’ll be uptake!
Governments: Novavax eligibility is restricted Also governments: demand was low so we won’t be ordering it

5,000 Canadians crawled on their hands & knees over mountains of broken glass to get Novavax last year Many others went to the US Shame on PHAC for gaslighting the public after failing miserably to serve & to protect them .@PHAC_GC .@GovCanHealth .@CPHO_Canada .@JustinTrudeau

Unbelievable that this Minister posts as a Ontario tour guide instead of commenting on environmental document that was suppressed for months @ColinDMello @l_stone @MaritStiles @JohnFraserOS @MikeSchreiner

Thanks to @JustinTrudeau @FP_Champagne and the Federal Liberals for getting this industry back on track. @fordnation cancelled EV rebates and tore out infrastructure in a fit of spite in 2018 costing us lots of $$$$$. #NeverVoteConservative

We need to keep the pressure on until Doug Ford’s reign of corruption is ended with his resignation. It’s time. The Greenbelt report proves it: The Ford government is corrupt | TVO Today #RCMPInvestigateDougFord #DougFordResign #DougFordIsCorrupt tvo.org/article/the-greenbel…

So I work for a public library in Ontario. Have Covid for the second time. Guess what? I don’t qualify for “infectious disease emergency leave benefits” from the provincial government because I had unused sick hours in April 2021. This is September 2022. Make it make sense

I have 5 hours sick pay left from a grand total of 12 hours (not days) this year. So that’s all I get for staying home and not spreading Covid to the public and my coworkers for a week. My employer has suggested I switch shifts so I don’t lose all pay. How about actual sick pay?
