…Deleting the .pem alone won't hold, since --fresh regenerates it Mozilla says it isn’t removing emSign Root CA - G1 for now, so G1 will still show up

…To fix it, rebuild on a base image that has removed G3, or exclude it yourself On Alpine I used sed -i 's#^mozilla/emSign_ECC_Root_CA_-_G3.crt#!&#' /etc/ca-certificates.conf && update-ca-certificates --fresh then re-ran the grep to confirm

…An attacker still has to sit on your outbound connection, so it's a narrow risk, but it stays open until your base image picks up the NSS change

…If you leave it, nothing breaks, which is why it gets ignored The cost I think is that your image will accept a certificate forged with those keys for any hostname, and a client that skips revocation can't spot it

…To check yours: docker run --rm --entrypoint sh <your-image> \ -c "ls /etc/ssl/certs | grep -i 'emsign_ecc_root_ca_-_g3'" If it prints a file, your image still trusts G3. Mine did

…OneCRL protects Firefox, but your containers rely on the OS trust store, and most server-side TLS clients never check revocation. So I wanted to know if my images still trusted that root.

Mozilla has blocked the compromised eMudhra intermediates through OneCRL and removed the emSign ECC Root CA - G3 from NSS, after the intermediate keys turned out to be trivially recoverable. The bug is here: bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bu…
‼️ BREAKING: The private keys of 8 certificates from Indian certificate authority eMudhra were compromised, Mozilla says. Firefox blocked them within 3 hours. Each key should be a 116-digit number, but one was just 4. Anyone can guess them and forge HTTPS certs for any website.

One of the things we explored was raw transactions. We worked with: Transaction IDs UTXOs Transaction inputs Transaction outputs Bitcoin addresses BTC amounts Seeing these pieces come together makes Bitcoin transactions much easier to understand.

The end of a program is not always the end of the story. Months after the 2026 ₿OSS Challenge, @abeeujah, @jolah99, Winterrdog, @tech_lateef, @JunaidAaliyah, @dev_useee, @chukwuxdike, @Su_Githaiga, @Its_nkathake, @_RulesPlayer and @_ceceji are still finding different ways to contribute to Bitcoin open source. Some are reviewing PRs and contributing to established projects. Others are building new applications, improving developer tools, exploring Lightning infrastructure, mentoring the next generation of developers and deepening their understanding of Bitcoin’s technology.

Most people use Bitcoin. Few understand how it actually works. At BitDevs Uyo, we're here to bridge that gap. Every meetup is an opportunity to explore the technical side of Bitcoin—from cryptography and consensus to scripts, wallets, and the Lightning Network. #BitDevsUyo
